The Head Of Senan The Giant Quest Guide – Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon

Looking to make some gold and earn experience points while slaying a towering foe? The bounty of Head of Senan the Giant offers a perfect means to do the same. This guide explains how to trigger the quest, where to find Senan, how to defeat him, and what rewards you collect for doing away with the massive rogue.

How to Start The Head Of Senan The Giant Quest

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is set in a dark, gritty world where danger is ever-present, even just outside the tiniest settlements, with bandits roaming around in the wilds. A good place to begin for anyone looking to make an impact is the Horns of the South: a fortified town down southwest. In its central courtyard has a bounty board along with Cillian, the NPC who rewards bounty hunters for their contracts.

To take on the hunt for Senan the Giant, check the board and talk to Cillian. Even if you don’t officially pick the bounty from the board, the target will still appear in the world once you’ve progressed far enough. You can take on multiple bounties at the same time or focus on just one, depending on how you like to play. Before heading out to face Senan, it’s a smart idea to equip a bow or prep your strongest spells. You’ll need a ranged advantage since Senan can deal heavy melee damage and has the size to match.

Where to Find Senan the Giant

To track him down, fast travel to the Temple of the All-Mother, which is centrally located. From there, move south across the bridge until you reach an area known as the Abandoned Village. Be careful here — this place is crawling with enemies, and it’s best to clear them out before moving forward. A surprise ambush mid-battle with Senan is the last thing you want.

Once the village is secure, follow the path leading east. Avoid going too far south since a collapsed bridge blocks that route. As you explore the fog-covered road, you’ll come across more bandits and eventually spot Senan himself. He’s easy to identify, towering well above the others. To make this fight manageable, try using stealth to pick off his guards one by one. If sneaking isn’t your thing, just focus on eliminating each enemy individually to avoid being overwhelmed.

How to Beat Senan the Giant

Once you’re alone with Senan, brace yourself. He charges quickly and doesn’t leave much room for error. Keeping your distance is crucial here. If you notice you’re having trouble outrunning him, it may be time to swap out heavier armor for something lighter and faster.

The most effective strategy is to keep him at a safe range. You can land damage by firing arrows, using ranged spells, or waiting for him to get close before landing a charged melee strike. That last option carries some risk, since Senan’s reach is massive and he has a tendency to close distance with a sudden leap or lunge.

Circle around, take your time, and don’t get greedy with attacks. Once you bring him down, you’ll find a generous haul on his body. The loot you receive after defeating Senan the Giant is quite generous. Among the items you’ll find are Senan’s head, which is required to complete the bounty, along with Branded Skin and a letter from a young boy that adds a bit of lore to the story. You’ll also collect Wyrdplasm, the Giant’s Sword, and a full set of leather gear including gauntlets, pants, and boots. In addition to that, you’ll pick up around 90 gold coins, Ethereal Cobwebs, Iron Throwing Knives, and an Aromatic Remedy, making the fight well worth the effort.

The Giant’s Sword may not match legendary weapons like Excalibur, but it holds its own early in the game and is a great pickup if you’re building a melee-focused character.

Claiming Your Bounty Reward

After looting Senan, return to Cillian in the Horns of the South. Give him the head to officially complete the bounty, and you’ll be rewarded with 300 gold and 1,500 experience points. That’s a solid payout, especially considering how challenging the fight can be if you’re not prepared. Whether you’re trying to clear out all the bounties or just looking for a tough solo boss to test your build, Senan the Giant is a fight worth taking on.
