The Forlorn Watchman Quest Guide Oblivion Remastered 

The Forlorn Watchman is a side quest in Oblivion Remastered. It all starts in the city of Bravil, where people are talking about a strange ghost. Your job is to find out who the ghost is and help him find peace. You’ll follow the spirit through dark forests, explore a haunted shipwreck, and fight the angry ghosts. This guide will walk you through all the steps.

How to Start the Forlorn Watchman Quest

To start the Forlorn Watchman quest, go to the city of Bravil. Once you’re there, talk with the locals and ask around about any rumors. After sometime, someone will tell you about a mysterious spirit and point you toward a man named Gilgondorin. You’ll find him inside the Silverhome on the Water inn. When you talk to him about the spirit, he’ll tell you that it was last seen near Bawnwatch Camp, just outside the city. This is when the quest begins. Head to Bawnwatch Camp at night to look for the ghost.

To learn more about the ghost, go talk to Gilgondorin, the owner of the Silverhome on the Water inn. When you speak to him, choose the dialogue option ‘The Forlorn Watchman.’ He will tell you that the ghost appears at Bawnwatch Camp during the night.

Forlorn Watchman Location

Go to the Bawnwatch Camp around 8 PM, and you can see the ghost appear. Don’t talk to him right away, just follow him. He’ll walk towards Fort Irony. Once he stops, you’ll be able to speak to him. He will tell you that who he was and tell you, “Look for me in the Mouth of the Panther.” This is actually the name of a location. You can go back and ask Gilgondorin about it to get directions, you don’t really need to. Just keep following the ghost or head east from Fort Irony, and you’ll get there.

When you reach the Mouth of the Panther, you’ll spot a shipwreck go towards it and check it out. Look for a broken door and interact with it to go inside.

  • As soon as you enter, be ready for to fight some wraiths. They will attack you right away. Take them out, then go through the door on your right. Inside, you’ll find a book on the table called Log of the Emma Bay. Read it to find out what really happened.
  • At the far end of the area, you’ll see a ladder that leads up to the Captain’s Cabin. Climb up, defeat another ghost, and open the chest there to grab a Potion of Healing.
  • After that, head back to the Upper Deck and look for the entrance to the Mid Deck on the other side. You’ll run into more ghosts there, so take them out. Keep an eye out for a chest near some broken wood, it holds a Potion of Dispel and a Weak Potion of Healing.
  • Next, use the nearby trapdoor to go down to the Lower Deck. There, you’ll face the ghost of Gable the Traitor. Defeat him and search his body to get a Small Key.

At the far end of the Lower Deck, you’ll find a skeleton chained to a wooden beam. Interact with it to free the spirit of Grantham Blakeley.

Forlorn Watchman Treasure Location

The Watchman will ask you to find a treasure map that’s lying on the ground, it will lead you to a treasure. The map points to Black Dog Camp, which is just a bit farther east from where you are. Head there, and then go just south of the camp to the dock. From there, jump into the water and dive down. You’ll find a chest hidden between some rocks. Inside the chest, you’ll find some gold, jewelry you can sell, gear, and few weapons.
