To celebrate World of Warcraft’s 20th birthday, players are getting a special quest called “The Case of the Fur-Getting Wikket.” It’s a fun and nostalgic adventure that takes you back in time to explore the Caverns of Time and other iconic locations. The quest involves solving puzzles and finding clues to track down a mischievous spirit named Gizmo. It’s a great way to experience the game’s history while enjoying a lighthearted mystery.
How to start The Case Of The Fur-Getting Wikket Quest
First, go talk to Alyx at the big tent in the Caverns of Time. She’ll give you a quest called “A Hozen On My Back.” Since this quest is designed as a “mystery,” you won’t find any map markers to guide you to the next person to talk to. Next, head west from the big tent. You’ll find two people there: Riko and Kiryn. Talk to both of them. They each want a pet and will ask you to find one for them. Once you’ve talked to both of them, ask them again about what kind of pet they’d like. Talk to Riko again. When you do, ask him, “What kind of pet do you want?” He’ll tell you he wants a cute pet, something like the little weasels that steal food from the bandits. This will give you more clues to help you find the right pet for each of them.
Next, go to Junior Secret Sleuf Maru. She’s near the purple tents behind the Mount Mania stage. Talk to her twice to get some clues about the kind of pet Riko wants. Once you have both clues, you can move on to the next part of the quest. After that, head to Breanni in the pet area. Tell her you’re looking for a pet and specifically mention a raccoon. She’ll share a sad story about a raccoon named Gizmo who was unfortunately killed during a battle in Pandaria.
Now, turn left and talk to Sully McLeary. You’ll find him near the Fashion Frenzy stage. When you talk to Sully, choose the option “I’m looking for a pet.” Sully will get emotional and share a heartfelt story about Socks and Gizmo, saying they were “taken from him too soon.” If you ask, “Where are they now?” he’ll guide you to the next step. After that go back to Maru. Maru mentioned that to understand the “Fur-Getting Wikket” case better, you should visit Serpent’s Overlook in the Jade Forest. She believes it might hold some crucial clues.
Head back to your faction’s capital city, Orgrimmar or Stormwind. From there, use the portal to the Jade Forest. Once you arrive, fly to the Serpent’s Outlook flight path. When you reach the flight path, use the Torch of Pyrreth on the two graves behind the flight master. Using the torch will summon Gizmo, a small raccoon spirit.
However, Gizmo is quite skittish and will run away if you move too quickly or use abilities. To catch him, you’ll need to be patient and avoid any sudden movements. To catch Gizmo, you’ll need to approach him slowly and carefully. Avoid running or using abilities, as sudden movements will scare him away. If other players are nearby, it might take longer to capture him, as their actions can also startle Gizmo.
Once you’ve caught Gizmo, return to Riko outside the Caverns of Time in Tanaris and complete the quest. You’ll be rewarded with Bronze Celebration Tokens and progress towards the Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager meta-achievement.
