The Apple of Her Eye is a charming side quest introduced in Monster Hunter’s Title Update 1. In this quest, you’ll help Alma recover her missing red glasses by tracking down a mischievous Wudwud named Ayejack. Along the way, you’ll explore the Forest, attend a lively festival, and trade for a rare item. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you complete the quest and claim your rewards.
The Apple of Her Eye Quest
“The Apple of Her Eye” is part of Title Update 1, so be sure you’ve downloaded the patch before you begin. Once it’s installed, head to camp and talk to Alma. She’ll mention that she’s lost her special glasses and seems pretty upset about it. She recalls spotting some Wudwuds around the time she lost them, so it’s up to you to talk to them and help track down Alma’s missing specs.
Wudwud Hideout Location
The quest prompt will point you toward finding a Wudwud who’s seen Alma’s glasses, and the best place to start is the Wudwud Hideout. You can fast travel straight there by selecting it on the Forest map. Once you arrive, you’ll meet Thunk, who’ll mention a search party down by the river. He figures that’s your best bet for tracking down the missing glasses.
Searching Alma’s Glasses
The river location will be marked on your map. When you get there, you can chat with a few members of the Wudwud search party they’ll mention seeing some “sparkly red good things” nearby.
Keep exploring the area and you’ll eventually find Ayejack hiding in a corner, wearing Alma’s red glasses. But as soon as you get close, he bolts. Head back to the Hideout and talk to Thunk. He won’t be much help, but he’ll suggest returning during the Wudwud festival to ask around.
To attend the festival, it needs to be nighttime during the Plenty. Just head to the nearest tent and rest to move the quest forward.
Wudwud Festivities
Once the right time and conditions are set, the festival at the Wudwud Hideout will kick off. To join the fun, you’ll need to climb to the top of the structure where the crowd is gathered.
Enter through the main gate, then look for a side exit from the building. Head out that way and you’ll spot some climbable vines, use them to reach the upper level where everyone’s hanging out.
Take the time to talk to all the Wudwuds. Some of them are up for trading, and a few will even hand over items for free.
Eventually, one of them will mention that Ayejack was at the bonfire earlier but wandered off to sleep. Head back down to ground level and start searching he’s napping in one of the hanging leaf nests, still wearing Alma’s glasses.
A heads-up: some players have had trouble finding Ayejack due to a quest marker glitch or him not appearing at all. If that happens, try leaving and re-entering the Hideout a couple of times until he shows up.
Finding Alma’s Glasses
Ayejack’s willing to give the glasses back but he’s not doing it for free. He’ll ask for one Eastern Honey in exchange.
If you already have some, just hand it over and Alma’s glasses will be yours again, wrapping up the quest. If not, no worries Eastern Honey is easy to find by interacting with Giant Vigorwasps out in the field.
Finishing the quest also rewards you with 300 Guild Points, a boost to your Hunter Rank, and unlocks the ability to craft the Strategist Spectacles Alpha and Square Glasses Alpha.
