This secret challenge requires some precision and timing and maybe a bit of skill, but it is worth trying for what one can gain from it. By hitting a cleverly placed basketball with an upgraded weapon, players can earn a massive boost of Essence, which can power up weapons and unlock new areas on the map. This guide will walk you through every step of finding where the basket is down to the final shot for maximum Essence rewards.
Where to Find the Basketball Shot Easter Egg
Go outside the Engineering area to find the hidden basketball in Black Ops 6 Zombies on the Terminus map. Jump onto the two crates in the middle and look up towards the living quarters. You’ll see the basketball stuck in the roof.
How to Do the Basketball Shot Easter Egg
To complete the Basketball Easter Egg, you must upgrade your weapon at the Pack-a-Punch machine. To do this, you’ll need to turn on the power by protecting three generators and raising the lift in the Bio Lab. Once you have 5,000 Essence, you can use the Pack-a-Punch machine on the lift. A weapon that shoots explosives, like a rocket launcher or the GS45 pistol, will make hitting the target easier. The ball will only make it into the hoop if you shoot it with a Pack-a-Punched weapon; otherwise, it’ll miss and just hit the ground.
To hit the basketball, stand on the box and jump. Aim your upgraded weapon at the basketball and shoot it as you jump. The timing is crucial, so shoot the ball from this specific angle and with an upgraded weapon. If you miss or use an unupgraded weapon, the ball will fall, and you’ll have to start a new game.
If you hit the basketball correctly, it will go through the net, and a bright flash will fill the screen. You’ll only make the shot if you use an upgraded weapon. If you try with a regular weapon, you’ll miss the hoop, and the ball will fall to the ground.
Fireworks will explode from the hoop, and a bunch of Essence Vials will appear, giving you lots of points. The more pellets you hit the basketball with, the more Essence you’ll earn. Each pellet hitting the ball gives you 2,000 Essence.
To maximize your rewards, use the upgraded ASG, which fires eight pellets and can earn you 16,000 Essence. If you use a regular weapon, you’ll get 2,000 Essence.
How to Get Double Essence
You’ll earn double the essence if you have an active Double Points multiplier or are using the Who’s Keeping Score Gobblegum. You can get a free double-point multiplier in the Bio Lab.
In the Bio Lab, go to the small enclosed area above the Melee Macchiato vending machine on the highest level. Inside, you’ll see white cabinets with two TVs mounted above them. Look closely at the top of the cabinet, and you’ll spot a small golden “2” peeking out from behind some filing boxes. Aim and shoot at the “2” to activate a free double-point multiplier.
You can also use a timer C4. After shooting the basketball, you can activate the C4 to get the double points multiplier and double the essence.
The Terminus Basketball Shot Easter Egg in Black Ops 6 Zombies is challenging. Achieving mastery with the perfect timing and angle will bring you a fairly good boost to your essence, making you dominate the game.
