Spread Your Wings is a major quest in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon that gives you an important choice. It all begins when you rescue a man named Vidar from a cage, which leads you into a deeper conflict involving a secretive group called the Children of Morrigan, also known as the Crows. As the story unfolds, you’ll have to decide who to trust and which path to follow. This guide will walk you through both choices, what they lead to, and how they shape your journey in the game.
How to Start the Spread Your Wings Questline
Your first mission starts when you encounter a man named Vidar, who’s imprisoned in a cage at a noted location on the map. The key to release him is nearby, in a small box. After freeing him, he requests you to meet him in Roskree.
Vidar’s Story vs. The Crows’ Story
When you arrive in Roskree, things take an unexpected turn. You’re introduced to a mysterious group known as the Children of Morrigan, or the Crows. They claim that Vidar belongs to them, and you’re faced with a big decision: do you turn him over, or stand by his side?
Vidar’s Story
If you choose to stand with Vidar, get ready for a tough fight. Self, one of the strongest Crows, won’t be alone; she’s backed up by a group of outlaws and highwaymen who will come at you fast. Luckily, Vidar is more than capable of holding his own, so you don’t need to babysit him during the battle.
Once you’ve taken down the Crows, talk to Vidar. He’ll thank you for backing him up. From here, you have a choice: you can keep helping him, which opens up a questline focused on pushing the Crows out of Kamelot and Avalon, or you can part ways and go on with your journey. Don’t forget to loot the bodies. You’ll need the branded skin to claim bounty rewards, and you can also pick up Self’s unique Crow armor set.
Crows’ Story
If you decide to hand Vidar over to his people, there’s no battle to worry about. Instead, Self welcomes you into the ranks of the Crows. You’ll be given the title of Hatchling and receive your own set of Crow armor.
You’ll also get your first assignment, starting a new questline where you work alongside the Crows to take out targets that are seen as threats to the balance in Kamelot and Avalon.
Which Path Should You Choose
Both choices take your story in completely different directions, each with its own set of missions and moral questions. In the end, it’s all about how you want your journey to unfold. Whichever path you choose, your decision will have consequences that play out as you continue your adventure in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
