Swords Tier List Verse Piece [Arise System]

Swords are among the most important parts of your build in Verse Piece. Having the correct sword can essentially transform how powerful your character is during combat; some provide you with massive AoE attacks, or even great buffs. This tier list separates all swords in the game, ranging from the most powerful S-Tier swords to entry-level swords in the E-Tier. This guide will help you in determining if a sword is worth playing with and how to acquire it.

S-Tier

These are the strongest swords in the entire game, making them some of the most difficult to obtain. If you can get one unlocked, you’re in for a huge power increase.

Voidedge (Cid V3)

Voidedge is one of the best swords in the game, with great damage and flashy moves. Its fundamental movements are a long slash combo culminating in a huge area-of-effect (AoE) slam, an equivalent cannonball-like flurry aimed at enemies ahead of you, and a dash forward where you’re invulnerable as you slash every which way. A favourite move among its archetypes is launching a mini version of Cid’s Atomic, which will detonate after a brief moment. Its fifth move should be added in a future update.

The Voidedge sword can be obtained by going to the enigmatic “?” Teacher NPC, found in Runes Island. You will require 15,000 Gems, 1 Atomic Core, 2 Void Eyes, and 5 Atomic Fragments to unlock it. Note that you will also need to have the Shadowborne Sovereign trait in order to use it.

Lancer

Lancer sword presents a killer combination of slashes and thrusts, all loaded with strong AoE capabilities. It begins with a medium-range stab, followed by a whirling strike and a huge AoE slash. Its most damaging skill is a double slam, while its V-move is a huge thrust that has a broad range. The final skill, activated using the F key, performs a cinematic cutscene and strikes enemies within a small radius with a very powerful attack.

To acquire the Lancer sword, you’ll need to grind on the Lancer Boss. It has a rare drop called Gae Bolg, which you’ll need to equip in order to unlock the sword. To unleash its ultimate move, you’ll also need to pick up an Ultimate Rune, a rare drop from the same boss.

Sung Jin Woo

Sung Jin Woo’s sword adds quick, area-controlling moves to your repertoire. The Z-move is a series of several wide-range slashes ending in a slam, and the X-move lets you attack from afar with an immediate thrust. The Coutillette move plays a fast set of frontal slashes, and the V-move provides temporary invincibility while you deal damage to everyone in a big range. What sets this sword apart is its F-move, summoning Igris, a strong ally that fights with you until you kill one enemy.

To get the Sung Jin Woo sword, go to the Sung Jin Woo Teacher NPC in Starter Island. You will require 10,000 Gems, 1 Basaka Dagger, and 1 Knight Dagger. Your 2nd Awakening title and Monarch trait are also a requirement to get this sword.

Rowan

The Rowan sword is all about dealing physical attacks with damage-over-time values. When you execute the Z-move, you launch boomerang-like blades that go forward and return to you. The X-move gives a huge AoE slam before it slashes, and the C-move slams the ground and releases a black cloud that inflicts damage to enemies over time. The V-move shoots an orb that sets up a storm cloud, which keeps hurting enemies trapped inside it.

To obtain the Rowan sword, you will require a stroke of luck or perseverance. It drops with a 1% chance from the boss Son of Rowan. You can also purchase it from the Son of Rowan NPC on Blacksmith Isle. The exchange will take 10,000 Gems, 1 Son of Rowan trait, and 100 Rowan Fragments.

A- Tier

A-Tier swords are really not much different from the S-Tier ones. If you can’t get an S-Tier weapon, these are a good option. They’re still very powerful and extremely reliable in most battles.

Kamish Wrath

Kamish Wrath provides rapid, explosive strikes with high-energy visuals. The Z-move triggers a quick-range energy blast, and the X-move allows you to run through enemies and slash them along the way. The C-move calls up Beru, and she begins to attack your target in a series of strikes. The V-move performs a vertical slash with two gigantic AoE slams after. Similar to Sung Jin Woo’s sword, the F-move allows you to call up Igris to battle alongside you until one enemy is eliminated.

To open Kamish Wrath, you’ll need to make it with the Kamish Recipe. Crafting it needs 15,000 Gems, 1 Kamish Dagger, 1 Kamish Recipe, and 1 Ant Head. Ensure that you also have the Kamish Wraith trait, as you need to wear the sword.

Crimson Cutter

The Crimson Cutter is a quick-hitting sword dedicated to dishing out strong slashes and ranged damage. Its Z-move lets loose a huge amount of slashes in front of you, useful for clearing clusters of enemies. The X and C moves both deal strong horizontal slashes, with the C-move dealing more AoE. The V-move releases a long-range energy beam, useful for finishing off enemies at range.

This sword was obtainable during the Easter Event but is no longer available. You might either obtain it as a rare drop from the Crimson Markman Boss on Verse Island or buy it from the Easter Event Shop for 5,000 Easter Eggs.

Emiya

The Emiya sword has fashionable animations and lethal accuracy. Its Z-move is initiated by a double slam and followed by a spin dash, which inflicts heavy damage. The X-move consists of two long-range thrusts, while the C-move performs a quick combo of two slashes and then a finishing thrust. The V-move is particularly useful; it fires explosive beams from the ground over a broad area and inflicts heavy AoE damage.

To get this sword, visit the Emiya Teacher NPC on Lost Isle. You’ll need to pay 10,000 Gems and bring along 1 Kanshou, 1 Bakuya, and the Trace On ability. The Hero of Wrought title is also required to equip this weapon.

Cid V2

Cid V2 is a powerful evolution of the original Cid sword, featuring upgraded moves and high burst potential. The Z-move attacks enemies nearby with short-range slashes, the X-move begins with a heavy slam followed by quick slashes, the C-move unleashes a whirling whirlwind of attacks that strike over a large area, and the V-move summons a sky beam barrage over a tremendous range. The F-move is its final finisher, a catastrophic full-AoE explosion that inflicts gigantic damage.

To unlock Cid V2, you need to talk to the Shadow Teacher NPC in Frost Town, but during nighttime only. You will require 2 Cid Eyes, 2,500 Shadow Fragments, the initial Cid V1 sword, and the Shadow King trait. You also require having the Shadow Garden title to access it.

Yoriichi

Yoriichi’s sword is a matter of broad AoE damage with quick, elegant movements. The Z-move allows you to slash in every direction around you with little but full-AoE attacks. The X-move pairs a close-range slash with three stellar shurikens hurled ahead. The C-move unleashes a sharp, double vertical slash that fans out in a 60-degree cone, and the V-move whips around you with a whirlwind of slashes.

This sword is exclusive to top players only; you must rank in the top five of the Endless Dungeon leaderboard to acquire it.

B-Tier

Although these swords rank lower, they’re still fairly good, especially during the process of levelling up. They don’t have as much in terms of moves as the ones ranking higher, but they can do the job just the same early on. As soon as you’re able to, however, it is a good idea to replace them with an A or S-Tier sword.

Toji V2 (Unleashed)

Toji V2, or Toji Unleashed, has quick, area-clearing attacks with good mobility. The Z-move does a sequence of AoE slashes, then a slam. The X-move does a long-range thrust attack. The C-move quickly slashes in front of you, and the V-move makes you invincible while you go wild, slashing everything in a big area.

In order to acquire this updated sword, visit the Toji Unleashed Teacher in Jujutsu Village. 10,000 Gems, 1 Heavenly Spear, 1 Split Soul Katana, and 1 Curse Worm will be required from you. Additionally, you should have the original Toji sword, a rejected Zenin trait, and be a Truthseeker race.

Red Mist

Red Mist is a balanced, streamlined sword that provides solid damage and a useful buff. The Z-move attacks twice with slanted slashes, then a more powerful double slash. Its X and C attacks emphasize the short-range slash and small cone pull that pulls enemies towards you. The V-move does a wide-range slash, so it’s good for groups. Where Red Mist shines is in its F-move, which gives you a 40% bonus damage for a short while, providing you with a sweet advantage in combat.

You can obtain Red Mist by making it from Mimicry material. To do this, go to the Dungeon Medal Exchanger NPC and use 250 Dungeon Medals to buy the material required.

Cha Haein

The Cha Haein sword is a light, clean weapon that excels at wide-range, graceful strikes. The Z-move makes you rush forward, and the X-move projects a combo of long distance. The C-move pulls up a huge whirlwind of slashes that is perfect for crowd control. The V-move culminates in a double slash with a beam of light bursting out from the ground stunning and deadly simultaneously.

You can purchase this sword from the Cha Haein Teacher NPC on Dungeon Cave Island. The complete recipe is composed of 7,500 Gems, 1 Sword of Light Recipe, 5 Light Ore, 100 Iron, and 50 Wood.

Starkk V2 (LL)

Starkk V2, also known as Starkk Los Lobos, is a higher version of the basic Starkk sword and introduces large AoE beam attacks. This is achieved in two stages. First, buy the normal Starkk sword from Starkk Teacher on Beach Isle at the price of 5,000 Gems and materials such as Resurrection Energy, Gun Barrels, Handles, and True Hogs. After that, to get the Los Lobos one, go to Starkk Los Lobos Teacher in Karakura Town.

For the full upgrade, you’ll require 10,000 Gems, 100 Ressurecion Energy, 100 True Hogyoku, 2 Starkk Gun Barrels, 2 Starkk Handles, and 1 Los Lobos Core. You’ll also need the Los Lobos title and the original Starkk sword in order to equip the upgraded version.

Kokushibo

The Kokushibo sword makes quick slashes with star-style effects. Its Z-move releases multiple small AoE attacks around you, and the X-move begins with a slash and hurls out three star-like shurikens. The C-move makes two large vertical stabs that cover a cone in front of you, and the V-move spins into a whirl of cuts that strike everyone within reach.

To obtain this sword, you’ll need to craft it using Kokushibo’s Sword material. It’s not tied to a teacher or shop and is likely obtained through crafting components from a boss or drop event.

Butterflies

The Butterflies sword is one of the most visually unique weapons in the game, with attacks that shoot out glowing butterfly-like beams. The Z-move shoots out a few close-range beams, and the X and C moves fire cone-shaped bursts at mid-range. The V-move fires a concentrated forward dash of butterflies that appear to be beautiful but pack a strong punch. Its F-move increases your sword damage by 40% for a brief duration, making it a good option for burst DPS.

To get this sword, visit the Butterflies Teacher on Runes Island. You’ll need 10,000 Gems, 100 Death Butterflies, 1 Solemn, and 1 Lament to complete the recipe.

Zenitsu

The Zenitsu sword provides quick and flashy lightning-style moves ideal for high-mobility combat. The Z-move sends you off in a forward dash attack, causing good damage while doing so. The X-move attacks opponents ahead of you with a rapid slash barrage. The C-move shoots out a long-distance lightning beam, and the V-move sends you dashing in an X-pattern, attacking enemies at every turn.

To acquire this sword, you must kill the Zenitsu Boss, which will drop the needed Zenitsu material. Then, with that in your possession, you can forge the sword and begin zipping around like a god of thunder.

Vergil

Vergil’s sword is all about flair, quickness, and deadly finishers. The Z-move allows you to dash backward quickly to avoid harm. The X-move slams with a scattering of little slashes all over the place around you, and the C-move starts out as a burst of fire but concludes with an enormous AoE slash. The V-move brings it all home with a shower of sword strikes falling from the heavens, so it is great for clearing clusters of foes.

You can purchase the Vergil sword from the Vergil Teacher on Runes Island. The cost is 5,000¥, along with 1 Yamato’s Sword and 1 Motived Chair. However, you’ll also need the Alpha & Omega trait to equip it.

C-Tier

C-Tier Swords are acceptable mid-game swords. They provide a combination of standard AoE and utility skills but do not have the force or flair of superior weapons. Useful for bridging the gap until an upgrade is possible.

Anubis

Anubis is an even sword that does a combination of fast AoE attacks and some moderate movement. The Z-move slaps adjacent foes with many little slashes. The X-move dashes you forward in a very long dash that doubles up into a heavy double slash. The C-move drags enemies towards you using a close-range push, prepping them for subsequent attacks. Finally, the V-move creates a whirlwind of full AoE slashes around yourself.

To make Anubis, visit the Crafter NPC and melt 5,000 Gems, 1 Anubis Sword, and 10 Curse Aura materials. It’s a good mid-game choice if you desire something that is versatile.

Cid V1

The Cid V1 is the first version of the Cid line and has excellent AoE for new and mid-range players. The Z-move attacks in a circle, striking enemies everywhere. The X-move begins with a slam, and there are multiple slashes to it. The C-move turns you into a whirlwind of strikes, and the V-move drops a full-scale beam barrage from the sky on your enemies.

You can acquire this sword in two ways: by exchanging 1,000 Shadow Fragments at the Shadow Raid Exchange NPC, or as an extremely rare 1% material drop from the boss of Shadow Castle Dungeon.

Alucard

The Alucard sword is heavy on dark and fashionable damage. The Z-move throws gigantic, sweeping cuts that inflict AoE damage. The X-move deals a single, powerful vertical strike, and the C-move shoots out a wave of far-off shadow energy, the shadow curtain.

To make this weapon, you will need materials that symbolize Alucard’s vampire nature: Alucard Blood, Casull, and Jackal, and also be of the Vampire race. Then, bring the ingredients to the Crafter NPC in order to craft your weapon of darkness.

Ichigo

Ichigo’s sword is all about broad, heavy slashes and distant beam attacks. The Z-move sends out a huge forward slash that strikes a broad area. The X-move shoots out sky beams that cover a large distance, so you can strike enemies at a distance. The C-move strings together several forward slashes to apply pressure to your foes.

To get this sword, head over to the Ichigo Teacher on Boss Island. You’ll need to collect 1 Zangetsu, 1 Zangetsu Handle, 1 Zangetsu Blade, and 1 Zangetsu Hilt to complete the sword.

Shusui

Shusui is a strong sword that specializes in tornado-like attacks and long-ranged slashes. The Z-move produces an AoE tornado around your character, which is excellent for clearing masses of enemies. The X-move shoots a long-range beam that detonates upon collision, and the C-move has you charging forward for rapid positioning or damage.

You can buy this sword from the Shusui Master, who appears randomly every 5 minutes. When he shows up, you’ll be able to purchase the sword for a hefty 5,000,000¥.

Maki

Maki’s sword is special for combining physical attacks with claw attacks. The X-move slams enemies away at close range, and the Z-move strikes all around you with a complete AoE whirlwind. The C-move provides a vicious combo of two claw attacks followed by a wide slash.

To get it, visit the Maki Teacher in Jujutsu Village. You’ll need 5,000 Gems and 1 Split Soul Katana. Keep in mind, the Zenin trait is required to wield this sword.

Starkk

The ground version of Starkk’s sword applies a series of beam-based attacks to harass enemies. The Z-move shoots a quick forward beam, while the X-move sprays short beams every direction around you. The C-move focuses that energy into a powerful salvo straight ahead.

You can purchase this sword from the Starkk Teacher on Beach Isle. It costs 5,000 Gems, along with 1 Resurrection Energy, 2 Gun Barrels, 2 Handles, and 5 True Hogs.

D-Tier

D-Tier Swords are simple and mostly outclassed, though a few have uses or strong visuals. They’re fine for early progress but should be replaced quickly.

Toji

Toji’s sword is basic but powerful, with quick close-range moves. The Z-move strikes with a rapid double slash. The X-move dishes out a few medium-sized AoE slashes all around you, and the C-move has you charging up with a massive AoE dash.

To acquire the Toji sword, go to the Toji Teacher in Desert Town. You will require 2,500 Gems and 1 Heavenly Spear to purchase it. You should also possess the Heavenly Restriction trait to wield this sword.

Grimmjow

Grimmjow’s sword is all about close-range, high-speed swings with good mobility. The Z-move creates a huge diagonal slash at an angle, perfect for striking foes in front of you. The X-move propels you forward in a medium-range AoE attack, so it’s good for gap-closing as well as damage.

Unfortunately, this sword is currently out of reach. It was previously available by talking to the Grimmjow Teacher in Frost Town after enjoying the game and becoming a member of the Vermillion group.

Rengoku

The Rengoku sword gives gorgeous but lethal slashes with broad AoE range. Its Z-move cuts down all surrounding enemies with tiny but full-area slashes. The X-move gives a close-range slash and spits out three fire-y shurikens. The C-move continues with two big vertical slashes in a cone, and the V-move concludes with a spinning whirlwind of blade slashes all around you.

Unfortunately, this sword is now no longer available. It was once sold as a reward for redeeming a special in-game code.

Kashimo

The Kashimo sword is all about quick forward-charging movements. The Z-move attacks enemies with a fast forward push, and the X-move shoots a lightning-like beam. The C-move caps off with a big dash that allows you to quickly traverse the battlefield while causing damage.

This sword is only achievable by killing the Kashimo Boss, where you have 5% chances of acquiring it as a drop.

Excalibur

Excalibur is a clean and simple sword that packs a punch in close combat. The Z-move swings around you with a full AoE attack, and the X-move cuts forward in a long, targeted beam. It’s a good sword for beginners who want balanced damage and range.

You can obtain Excalibur from Saber in Snow Village. Its making requires 2,500 Gems, 20 Goblets, and 5 Light Shards.

E-Tier

E-Tier Swords are starter-class swords. They are easy to obtain but provide very little damage and very weak abilities that are only best suited for use at the beginning of your career.

Yoru

Yoru is a sharp, elegant blade built for fast combos and stylish attacks. The Z-move unleashes an angled slash that travels forward, while the X-move delivers a full AoE spin attack around you, great for dealing with nearby enemies.

Buy this sword from the Yoru Teacher in Snow Village. You’ll need 25,000¥, 30 Black Iron, and 25 Wood to complete the purchase.

Saber

Saber’s sword delivers clean, combo-friendly attacks. The Z-move sends out a double slash that travels forward, ideal for hitting targets in a line. The X-move follows up with multiple mid-range AoE slashes, making it great for clearing enemies.

To get Saber’s sword, speak to the Shanks Teacher on Jungle Island. It costs 1,500 Gems, but you’ll also need to have at least 1,000 Reputation or Bounty to unlock it.

Katana

The Katana is a simple starter sword perfect for early-game combat. Its Z-move launches a small projectile that deals light damage nothing fancy, but it gets the job done while you’re leveling up.

You can buy it from the Katana Seller on Starter Island. It’s cheap and easy to obtain: just bring 2,500¥, 10 Wood, and 5 Iron.
