How to Start the Stay Human Sidequest
As you explore the Castor Woods region, you’ll come across two brothers Liam and Jamie. Liam’s health is failing because his immunity is running out, and Jamie is desperate to find a way to save him. With Kyle’s help, he hopes to either cure his brother or at least ease his suffering as things get worse.
Stay Human Sidequest Guide
Your first stop is the Pharmacy, marked on the map. Head inside it’s a Dark Zone, so there will be plenty of infected around. The fridge you’re looking for is hidden away in the back room. Pick the lock, step inside, and you’ll find it sitting there. Sadly, when you open it’s completely empty. Kyle radios the bad news to Liam, who tells you to wait for further instructions. Exit the pharmacy to continue.
Bloodsucking Bunnies band T-shirt Gift
Once outside, Liam has another favor but this time, it’s for Jamie. He wants to surprise him with a Bloodsucking Bunnies band T-shirt as a birthday gift. The shirt is inside a Fashion Store. Clear out the infected and loot the place. The T-shirt itself is easy to spot. Use your Survivor Sense, and you’ll see it hanging in a changing room rack just to the right of the entrance. Get it, and head back out.
Liam’s Family Resort
Next, Liam asks you to head to his family’s Mountain Resort. Drive out there and park at the bottom of the hill leading to the cabin. Be ready for a fight the place is crawling with raiders. Clear them out, and watch for enemies using ranged weapons.
The Wine Cellar
Once the raiders are dealt with, head inside the cabin. On the left side, you’ll find doors leading downstairs to the basement. Down here, crawl through a vent to reach the Wine Cellar. Grab the two marked bottles of wine, and you’re good to go.
The Attic
Now, Liam wants you to check the attic. Go back to the main entrance, but this time head through the right doors. Crawl through a vent on the floor, climb a yellow pipe, and back-jump into another vent to reach the top. Inside, you’ll find a pile of books with a Manual Page collectible. But the main item here is sitting on a table a family photo that Liam drew as a child. Pick it up and enjoy the touching cutscene.
Head to the Farm
Liam then asks you to meet him at a farm south of the cave. When you arrive at the barn, you’ll find a note outside. It reveals the truth: Liam’s infection has finally taken over. He doesn’t want Kyle to feel guilty, but he knows what has to be done. Head inside, and you’ll find Liam now fully turned. Sadly, you have no choice but to put him down.
Return to the Cave
Afterward, return to the Exiled Cave to deliver the gifts to Jamie and break the news of Liam’s death. It turns out Jamie’s “birthday” wasn’t real at all Liam just made it up to give his brother some happy memories before the end.
