Perched in the steel clad ridges south of Hernand, the Spire of Insight is a multi floor puzzle tower that tests observation more than combat. Clear the entrance, place the right curios into each chalice to power the lifts and you’ll ascend floor by floor – each floor hides the exact objects the spire’s riddles ask for. This guide pinpoints those items, shows the quickest order to place them, and highlights optional blueprints so you can reach the Abyss gate at the summit without wandering every shelf.
Spire of Insight Location
The Spire of Insight is located south of Hernand near the Steel Mountains. The spire is under control of an enemy faction, and you have to liberate the spire before proceeding to solve the spire’s puzzles.
Gaining Entry to the Spire of Insight
As you’ve probably noticed, the Spire’s entrance is blocked by roots that are harmful. Clearing them is very simple, you just need to use Focus Light on the roots and hold it for a few seconds until they start burning, this will clear the path to get to the spire’s entrance.
The spire’s door is locked and it can be unlocked by a mechanism where you’d have to pick up a pebble from the ground and place it on the stone chalice on the door as shown in the above second picture, this will unlock the spire’s entrance and you can head inside.
Ranged Weapons of the World Vol. 2 Book
Note : Before you head to the next floor, I would recommend to pick up the Ranged Weapons of the World Vol. 2 from the book shelf to the right side of the spire’s entrance, this will be a key item when you start crafting weapons in the game and it contains some of the best ranged weapons blueprints.
Floor One Walkthrough
There’s a chalice on the dais, where you need to place specific items to solve the puzzle for each floor. And the clues for these specific items are given in the book which can be found on the dais as well. And if you examine the book, we need to find a gravestone and place it inside the chalice.
You can find the gravestone to the right of the dais, pick up the gravestone and place it inside the chalice as shown in the above second image. The dais is also a lift, and when you place the object inside the chalice it’s going to activate the lift to the second floor.
Floor Two Walkthrough
After you’ve reached the second floor, the clue on the book changes to the respective floor’s puzzle and if you examine the book again, you need to find 2 items and put them inside the chalice this time – a pen tip and telescope.
Pen Tip Location
Turn around to your right from the dais, and go through the marked area, then go through the door to your right inside the room.
You’ll find the pen tip on the table near the window inside the room, pick up the object and place it inside the chalice.
Telescope Location
To get the telescope, turn around to your left from the dais and go through the marked area, you’ll reach a table on which the telescope object lies. Pick up the telescope and place it inside the chalice.
After you’ve placed the two objects, the lift is going to get activated again and rise to the third floor, the final puzzle room that you need to solve.
Two Handed Weapons of the World Vol. 3 Book
Note : When you get to the third floor, turn left to the book shelf and you’ll notice the Two Handed Weapons of the World Vol. 3 book in the book shelf. Make sure to pick it up as it also has some of the best craftable weapons.
Floor Three Walkthrough
If you’ll examine the book one last time, you’ll notice that you’ve to collect three objects to solve the third floor’s puzzle – a rotating globe, a celestial and a sundial.
Small Rotating Globe Location
Turn right from the dais and you’ll notice the rotating globe object on the middle of the book shelf, place the globe inside the chalice.
Celestial Location
If you look a bit down to the left of where you found the globe, you’ll also find the celestial object which you need to place inside the chalice.
Sundial Location
The sundial is located on the shelf that is right behind the dais as shown in the above image.
Placing these three objects inside the chalice will activate the lift once again and you’ll reach the top of the Spire where the Abyss gate lies, and with this you’ve successfully completed the Spire of Insight.
