If you’re playing Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate and you’ve reached the Curtilage Divide area during the Transient mission, you’ll come across a tricky puzzle with several laser barriers blocking your way. In this guide, we’ll walk you through each step to disable the barriers, use the Relocator and Matterspark, and clear the path so you can keep moving forward in your mission.
Solve Curtilage Divide Barrier Puzzle
You’ll first need to start the mission Transient in the Curtilage Divide area. Just follow the quest marker as usual until you reach a room with a set of laser barriers blocking your way. You can’t walk through these lasers, so let’s get them disabled.
First Laser Barrier
Look around the area and you’ll find an item called the Relocator. It looks a lot like a Fallen Cannon, so it’s easy to spot. Pick up the Relocator and shoot at two glowing targets that look like Servitor eyes:
- One is on the left side of the laser barrier.
- The other is on the opposite side.
(You can shoot through the barrier because there are gaps between the lasers.)
After hitting both targets, turn around and you’ll see a Teleporter. Step on it to get to the other side of the barrier. On this new side, use the Relocator again to shoot another eye on the left-hand side of the barrier. Now, interact with the terminal on the right side. This will completely disable the first laser barrier. You can now walk through the door ahead. But instead of using the teleporter again, take a look to the right side of the room.
Using the Matterspark
On the right, you’ll see a Matterspark. Interact with it to transform yourself into a ball of lightning. Go through the door you just opened and move forward until you see another terminal on the left. While still in Matterspark form, interact with this terminal to charge it. Doing this will lower another barrier and reveal a Teleporter. You’ll use it soon.
Second Laser Barrier
Exit the Matterspark and head back toward the teleporter you just revealed. Look to the right and you’ll see another Relocator. Pick it up. Go straight ahead and you’ll find the second laser barrier. Use the Relocator to shoot an eye located on the other side of this barrier. This action will activate the teleporter you unlocked earlier. Step into the teleporter to reach the far side of the barrier. Interact with the terminal here to disable the second barrier. Retrace your steps to pick up another Relocator from the same spot as before.
Final Section
With the barrier disabled, head forward and you’ll see some platforms to climb. There will be a few enemies, but the Relocator makes quick work of them. Take the path to the right and jump up to the last platform. Look to your left to spot a few hanging platforms. Jump onto one and look down. You’ll see another laser barrier with a glowing eye inside it. Shoot the eye with the Relocator. This activates a new teleporter in front of you. Step onto it, and you’ll appear on the other side of the barrier.
