With a range of 2.5, it excels in medium to long-distance combat. The rifle weighs 5.4 kg and uses 7.62×54 caliber rounds with a 10-round magazine. It occupies a 6×2 inventory slot and can be used in single-shot mode. While the base price is 37,500 coupons, you’ll need to get it repaired before it can truly shine.
Heart of Chornobyl Early Sniper Rifle SVDM-2 Location
You can obtain the SVDM-2 by taking down Leshy, who can be found on the upper walkways of the Northern Checkpoint, located directly north of Zalissya along the same road. Leshy will be in the large warehouse to the northeast of the area. You can go after him anytime after the prologue.
Leshy doesn’t have much backup, but he can still deal much damage. Try to find a way to climb and hide until you’re on the same level as him. Then, you can take him out easily with a shotgun. Once you take him down, you can loot his body for the SVDM-2, a powerful sniper rifle. It will be broken at first, but for around 12,500 coupons, you can get it repaired and have a fast-firing sniper that hits hard.
How to Repair Sniper Rifle SVDM-2 in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl
In Stalker 2, every weapon has a durability percentage, and once it reaches zero, the weapon becomes permanently unusable. You can check its condition in detail by inspecting it in your inventory, or get a quick sense of its status from the color of the shield icon next to the weapon. As a weapon’s durability decreases, the chances of it jamming during use increase.

- Head to a technician NPC in a settlement.
