The Smithy’s Seal of Quality is a side mission in Monster Hunter Wilds that tasks players with hunting the Lala Barina. Unlocking this quest requires completing earlier objectives, including the High-Quality Materials mission. How to Begin the Smithy’s Seal of Quality Side Quest in MH Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds features a variety of main and side quests that players can complete as they progress through the story. In this adventure, players enter a forbidden land where they encounter powerful monsters. Defeating them grants valuable items essential for progression.

The Smithy’s Seal of Quality is an optional quest that becomes available after interacting with Gemma. During this interaction, Gemma introduces a newly crafted weapon and encourages the player to test it on a real monster. To begin the quest, players must visit the Quest Counter at Area 12. Successfully completing the mission rewards 12,600 Z.

Note: The quest will fail if you don’t hunt Lala Barina within 50 minutes of starting the mission. Additionally, if you faint more than three times, you’ll have to restart the mission.

Using Gemma’s Prototype and Beating Lala Barina in MH Wilds

After starting the quest, you’ll spawn in a forest, where you’ll encounter Lala Barina after some exploration. Once you find the monster, you must use Gemma’s newly crafted weapon to defeat it.

Gemma will assist you during the battle, but since Lala Barina is a powerful foe, taking it down will require time and strategic attacks.

Sever:

• Using Sever damage on Lala Barina’s Tail deals the highest damage!

• If you can’t reach the optimal spot, targeting Lala Barina’s Petals with Sever damage is a good alternative.

• Avoid attacking the Head with Sever damage, as it has the lowest damage multiplier.

Blunt:

• Landing Blunt attacks on Lala Barina’s Head deals the highest damage!

• If you can’t reach the ideal spot, targeting Lala Barina’s Tail with Blunt damage is a solid alternative.

• Avoid attacking the Torso with Blunt damage, as it has the lowest damage multiplier.

Shot:

• The Head is the best target for Shot damage against Lala Barina, as it deals the highest damage!

• If you can’t aim for the optimal spot, Lala Barina’s Tail is a good alternative for Shot damage.

• Avoid shooting at the Torso, as it has the lowest damage multiplier for Shot damage.

Elemental Weakness:

Note: Fire is the most effective element against Lala Barina. Aim for its Tail to maximize Fire damage.

Lala Barina Hunting Tips and Strategies

When Lala Barina’s abdomen blooms, some of its attacks will release paralyzing florets. Getting hit by multiple florets will cause paralysis, so communicate with your team or equip paralysis-resistant gear to avoid this effect.

Since Lala Barina’s Tail is its weak point, focus all your attacks there. Additionally, breaking its claws and petals will grant extra rewards.

If Doshaguma comes near, Lala Barina will engage in a Turf War. While Doshaguma will deal heavy damage to Lala Barina, it will eventually get paralyzed.

Hunting Strategies:

• Use Shock Traps and Pitfall Traps to immobilize Lala Barina.

• Sneak Attack whenever Lala Barina moves to a new area.

• Equip the Ghillie Mantle mid-fight to land additional Sneak Attacks.

• Take advantage of Mounting as often as possible.

• Interact with the environment and use traps to disrupt Lala Barina, giving you the upper hand in battle.

Lala Barina Attack Patterns and How to Avoid Them

• Claw Swipe: Lala Barina raises one of its claws and swipes forward. Dodge or block to avoid damage.

• Leg Slam: Lala Barina rises on its hind legs before slamming down. Dodge backward to create distance before it lands.

• Double Abdomen Slam: Lala Barina turns around and slams its abdomen down twice. Run to its front or dodge to the side to avoid damage.

• Pirouette Floret Scatter: Lala Barina spins multiple times, releasing paralyzing florets. Avoid getting hit by multiple florets to prevent paralysis.

• Stinger Thrust: Lala Barina pirouettes, then exposes its stinger and thrusts it toward the hunter. Dodge sideways or block to evade the attack.

• Nest Spin Floret Scatter: While hanging from its nest, Lala Barina spins, releasing numerous paralyzing florets. Attack it during this state to knock it down.

After defeating the monster, collect its drops before returning to Gemma.

Additionally, you’ll earn 100 Guild Points upon completing this mission.
