Silent Hill f UFO Ending Explained and Guide to Complete

No Silent Hill game is complete without its classic multiple endings. From the original 1999 classic to Silent Hill f, secondary conclusions have been an iconic hallmark of the franchise, ranging from despairing and dreamlike to off-the-wall humorous.

Silent Hill f continues that practice with a mix of traditional endings and some cheeky surprises. The UFO Ending, officially titled “The Great Space Invasion,” is one of them. Though it’s distinct from earlier games in that it isn’t precipitated by unconventional alien gadgetry, it’s activated by finding a series of hidden broadcasts and posters. Here’s how to replicate it for yourself.

Can You Get the UFO Ending on Your First Playthrough?

Unfortunately not. Like with past Silent Hill titles, Silent Hill f denies its more lighthearted or hidden endings to New Game Plus playthrough to us.

You can only earn the UFO Ending after completing your first playthrough and starting a new one using a Clear Game save file. Loading this save initiates a New Game Plus, which unlocks access to additional endings — including The Great Space Invasion.

Keep at least one Clear Game save on hand. Without it, you’ll need to replay the entire story again before attempting this ending.

Prerequisites for the UFO Ending

Once you’ve initiated your New Game Plus save, you can work toward the UFO Ending. To trigger it, you must do the following — ideally in sequence:

  • Hear all three UFO radio transmissions.
  • Get all three “The Great Space Invasion” movie posters sequentially.
  • Find and interact with “The Great Space Invasion” movie review after completing the above.

While the sequence might appear intense, the game does get a little lenient — if you end up interacting with the posters in the right order. Let’s proceed one step at a time.

Step 1: Locating All UFO Radio Broadcasts

After unlocking the first ending and starting your New Game Plus run, you’ll be able to go searching for the creepy UFO radio broadcasts. Each one leads to the weird cosmic phenomena occurring off-screen in Silent Hill f.

Radio Broadcast #1

It’s accessible shortly after encountering the Fog Monster for the first time.

  • Head down a flashlight beam into an alleyway filled with trash.
  • Crawl beneath the wreckage to access a small enclosed area.
  • As you approach, you hear the familiar voice of a radio.
  • Speak to it and hear a news report regarding a bridge destroyed by an unidentified object.

The broadcast is cut off, abruptly — jarring, but unmistakably otherworldly in tone.

Radio Broadcast #2

On the way to Rinko’s home. Search for the home where the rice fields begin.

  • Use the ladder out back to go inside.
  • Search the rooms until you receive radio static.
  • The recording is strange: voices repeat “congratulations” ad infinitum before being abruptly cut off.

It’s a cheeky nod to Neon Genesis Evangelion — another series in which apocalyptic and extraterrestrial themes are synonymous.

Radio Broadcast #3

The final broadcast is in the southern sector of Ebisugaoka, near where you meet Rinko and Shu en route to the Middle School.

  • Enter the house that’s a shortcut along your route.
  • Listen to the now-familiar radio crackle again.
  • This recording is slightly more philosophical, speculating that not every day necessarily has to be “extraordinary. or extraterrestrial.”

Having listened to all three, you will not get a direct confirmation, but now, the movie posters can be interacted with in a meaningful manner.

Step 2: Finding “The Great Space Invasion” Movie Posters

Once you’ve done the radio broadcast, your next goal is to visit three posters for the fictional movie The Great Space Invasion. They must be viewed in the correct order in order to progress towards the UFO Ending.

Fortunately, going to them out of sequence won’t kill you stone dead — you can simply return and view them again in sequence.

Movie Poster #1

Located along the route to Rinko’s residence, far into the rice fields.

  • Go to the north-east corner and push aside a stack of planks.
  • Go inside the little backyard to locate the poster on the wall.
  • If performed in the proper sequence, the screen momentarily achieves an old film look, with one UFO flashing by in the sky.

Movie Poster #2

Located earlier on in Ebisugaoka Town, as I followed Shu and Rinko to the Middle School.

  • The poster can be seen directly across from the Hokora shrine, which is not hard to miss while driving by.
  • Staring at it in the correct order again creates another short scene, and this time it involves two UFOs flying across the sky.

Movie Poster #3

This last poster requires some backtracking.

  • Head north of Chizuruya and navigate east through an alleyway.
  • You’ll make your way through this spot sooner in the game with Shu and Rinko.
  • You can find an early mannequin for nailing the wall to the side of the poster at the start of the game.

Played correctly in sequence, you’ll see a final brief scene showing three UFOs moving across the nighttime sky. Played in error, you’ll instead hear a ridiculously deflated alien noise.

Step 3: Discovering “The Great Space Invasion” Movie Review

After viewing all three posters and listening to each of the radio broadcasts, the last item — The Great Space Invasion movie review — is released.

  • Go back to the spot near Chizuruya’s entrance.
  • Coming from the street, you will hear a faint alien sound that is growing louder.
  • The review is somewhere around there; go up to it to trigger the UFO Ending immediately.

Be sure to save beforehand if you want to continue your current playthrough afterward — once you activate the review, the ending plays automatically.
