Should you Save Treviso or Minrathous in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

The decision to save either Treviso or Minrathous in Dragon Age: The Veilguard is significant, with far-reaching consequences for your party and the world. But with each kind of choice comes both advantages and disadvantages. That means the relationship it affects with the main characters, the storyline, and your companion’s abilities differ with each choice. The choice is yours; the possible outcome, however, will help you decide which of the two you’ll opt for during your gameplay.

Should you Save Treviso?

If you’re romantically involved with Lucanis Dellamorte, the Antivan Crow, it’s recommended that you choose to save Treviso. This decision will significantly impact your relationship with him, as Treviso is his hometown. If you choose to save Treviso from the dragon attack, the city of Minrathous will suffer a devastating blow. This will be incredibly difficult for Neve to handle, and she will temporarily leave the party to help her friends recover. While she’s away, the Venatori will take advantage of the situation and increase their presence in the city. Many of Neve’s allies in the Shadow Dragons will also be injured, making the situation even more dire.

The quest you’re about to embark on is called “On Deadly Wings.” In this quest, you’ll face a formidable dragon named Corius the Icetalon, which will attack with ice balls. After defeating the dragon, you’ll witness a cutscene featuring Ghilan’nain and encounter Antaam enemies. As a reward for completing this quest, you’ll receive the Veil’s Bough +4 Longsword (or a similar weapon, depending on your class). However, your decision to fight the dragon in Treviso will have significant consequences. Minrathous will be devastated by the dragon’s attack, leaving it in ruins. You’ll need to rediscover the waypoints in the city, and the Shadow Dragons’ headquarters will be abandoned. The Venatori will seize control of the city and start hunting down any remaining Shadow Dragons.

Your relationship with Neve will suffer as a result of your decision, and she will become distant and less supportive. The Viper will contract Blight due to the dragon’s attack, and the Venatori will establish a stronger presence in the city. To address the aftermath of the dragon’s attack, you’ll unlock two new quests: “Spies Among Us” and “Statuary, Fine Art, and Antaam.” These quests involve uncovering traitors in Treviso. Additionally, you’ll gain access to Mistress Trella’s Art Shop, where you can purchase decorations for Rook’s room. The Venatori, now in power, will start building shrines, and you’ll have the opportunity to destroy them in the “Rituals for the Risen” quest. During the “Fire and Ice” quest, the Crows will lend their aid to your cause.

Saving Treviso will negatively impact your relationship with Neve. She will become more distant and hardened by the experience, making it harder to progress your relationship with her. When she returns to the party, she will be less supportive and more focused on dealing damage. While she will gain some damage buffs, she will lose the ability to heal herself and support her allies.

Should you Save Minrathous?

If you’re romantically involved with Neve, the Shadow Dragons, it’s recommended that you choose to save Minrathous. This decision will have a significant positive impact on your relationship with her, as Minrathous is her hometown. If you choose to save Minrathous, Treviso will suffer a devastating dragon attack. This will lead to Lucanis Dellamorte being unavailable as a companion for a period. More importantly, this choice will permanently prevent you from pursuing a romantic relationship with him.

The quest you’re about to embark on is called “On Blighted Wings.” In this quest, you’ll face a formidable dragon named Seartooth Vyrantus, which will attack with fireballs. After defeating the dragon, you’ll witness a cutscene featuring Ghilan’nain and encounter Venatori enemies. As a reward for completing this quest, you’ll receive the Veil’s Bough +4 Longsword (or a similar weapon depending on your class). However, your decision to fight the dragon will have significant consequences. Treviso will be devastated by the dragon’s attack, leaving its canals poisoned with Blight Cysts. You’ll need to rediscover the waypoints in the city, and Lucanis will leave the Lighthouse to recover. The Crows will remain in their headquarters, but some will fall ill with Blight. The Antaam will take advantage of the chaos and become more aggressive.

Your relationship with Lucanis will suffer as a result of your decision, and he will become distant and less supportive. The Venatori will take advantage of the situation and increase their influence in the city. To address the aftermath of the dragon’s attack, you’ll unlock two new quests: “A City Blighted” and “Missing in Action.” These quests involve cleaning up the Blight and locating missing Crows in Treviso. Additionally, you can take on the “The Snake Nest Deal” quest in Dock Town, which involves uncovering the God’s influence in the city. During the “Fire and Ice” quest, the Shadow Dragons will lend their aid to your cause.

If you choose to save Minrathous, Lucanis will become more focused on dealing damage, but he will lose the ability to heal himself. Additionally, you will no longer be able to complete the Antivan Crows quest “A Slow Poison” if you haven’t already.

Should you Save Treviso or Minrathous?

While both Neve and Lucanis will be affected by your decision, there’s one crucial factor to consider: choosing to save Minrathous will permanently lock you out of a romantic relationship with Lucanis. If you’re interested in pursuing a romance with him, you might want to consider saving Treviso instead. However, the ultimate decision of which city to save is a personal one and depends on your own preferences and playstyle.
