Welcome to Worlds Beyond, where strategy meets fantasy and every card played could determine victory or defeat. Whether you’re completely new, or familiar with the original Shadowverse, this guide organizes the information for you in a way that is easy to digest—and enjoyable to read.
What’s New and What’s Familiar?
At first glance, the game might seem like the Shadowverse that you know: decks of spells, amulets, and followers fighting in tactical duels. Look a little closer and you’ll discover Worlds Beyond has some shiny new upgrades.
- Super Evolution is a major addition. Think of it as a late-game power spike. From second player’s sixth turn, players can spend Super Evolution points to super-power any follower – yes any follower, even low-rarity followers. The follower you evolve now has Rush, and it receives a +3/+3 stat boost and ends the turn with temporary invincibility.
- Then there is the bonus play points system. Picking first doesn’t mean as much anymore, and second player gets not one but eventually two point boosts per match as players might be able to play regularly.
- Evolution in general is simplified, evolved followers always receive a +2/+2, and super-evolved followers always receive a +3/+3 stat boost. There isn’t any uncertainty, just reliable stat boosts.
Battle Styles to Master
You’ve got your cards. Now what? Time to decide how you want to fight. There’s no one-size-fits-all strategy here—just four broad playstyles to get you started:
PLAYSTYLE | WHAT IT DOES | BEST CLASSES |
Aggro | Go in fast, overwhelm early. | Forestcraft, Swordcraft |
Control | Remove threats, stall out, win late. | Havencraft, Abysscraft |
Midrange | Balance offense and defense. | Swordcraft, Dragoncraft |
Combo | Set up synergies for game-breaking plays. | Portalcraft, Runecraft |
Each class leans toward a certain strategy, but there’s plenty of room to mix things up.
Collecting Cards Without the Grind
Let’s discuss your collection. Worlds Beyond wants you to play, not pile duplicates from one class to the side.
You can only liquefy cards after you have more than 3 copies of the same card. This allows you to be able to build around different playstyles and not just hover around the comfort of what you are used to.
Don’t worry,it’s not a hassle to get new cards. You will get:
- Free card packs from daily logins.
- Extra packs through launch challenges.
- Guaranteed Legendary cards every 10 packs you buy.
- Ready-made decks just for completing beginner missions.
So you’re never too far from building something awesome.
Building a Deck That Wins
Synergy is the most important concept when building a deck.
- First choose a class that suits your preferred tempo of play. If you enjoy aggressive gameplay, you’ll fit right in with Forestcraft and its swarm mechanics. However if you prefer a slower strategic approach, Havencraft has plenty of strong defensive plays and Runecraft has amazing combos to consider.
- Next decide on your gameplan: Will you control the board, go full aggro, or set up for a big finish with a combo? Build around your gameplan with cards that support it – don’t forget to include spells for removal, amulets for passive boosts, and followers that fill out your curve.
- Lastly, when deciding on key cards, keep evolution and super evolution in mind; certain followers are much stronger once they are upgraded.
Know Your Classes

Here’s a crash course on the eight playable classes:
- Forestcraft: Floods the board with cheap followers—ideal for early-game pressure.
- Swordcraft: Think knights and commanders, with abilities that boost multi-attacks.
- Runecraft: Spell-heavy, great for triggering effects based on how many spells or runes you’ve played.
- Dragoncraft: Plays big units early by ramping up mana faster than other classes.
- Havencraft: Excellent at healing, protecting itself, and stalling out aggressive decks.
- Portalcraft: Good for combo and disruption—can manipulate your opponent’s hand or deck.
- Abysscraft: Risk-reward playstyle that uses self-damage and sacrificial effects to gain power.
- Neutral: Doesn’t belong to any class, but offers flexible options for all kinds of decks.
Pick the one that fits your vibe—or try them all until you find your favorite.
Final Tips Before You Jump In
- Use your evolution points wisely—don’t blow them too early.
- Take advantage of the second player’s extra play points for a potential comeback.
- Explore multiple classes; each offers a different perspective on strategy.
- Keep an eye out for synergy—not just strong cards, but ones that work together.
