Secrets of The Manor in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

The Manor in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is full of hidden secrets and surprises. As you explore, you will find locked doors, secret rooms, puzzles, and special items. You can get new outfits and powerful upgrades. This guide will help you find all the secrets in the Manor and show you what to do step by step.

1. Manor’s Kitchen Door Puzzle Location

Move towards the Chief’s House in Gestral Village, then take the right-hand path. Keep walking until you see a sign that says “Turn Back.” Now, cross the sign and keep going straight until you reach a door that leads into the Manor kitchen.

How To Solve the Manor’s Kitchen Door Puzzle

To solve the Manor Kitchen puzzle in Expedition 33, you’ll need to interact with three specific items:

  • The head statue
  • The middle pot in the row of three pots
  • The small candelabra on the table near the window

Once you’ve activated all three items, look at the floor by the barrels to find a hidden passage. Once you find the secret passage, go down. Here, you’ll find a staircase leading upward. Take the staircase and move upwards.

At the top, you can unlock the door that was previously locked in the kitchen. Check the corner of the room, you’ll find an item called Shape of Energy, which can be used to upgrade your Energy Tint. Now, turn around, and you will notice another opening on the opposite wall. Shoot the boxes there to clear the way. Just below the stairs, you’ll also find a hidden reward, a new hairstyle for Maelle.

At this point, you can head upstairs and open a door, but the final door will still be locked. You’ll likely need to unlock it from the other side later in the game. For now, you can take the other staircase up to the Exit Door. Once you open it, you’ll return to the kitchen. From there, just head to the main door of the manor, and stepping outside will bring you back to the village.

2. Nocturne pour un masque de tristesse

You can get Nocturne pour un masque de tristesse in Act 3 in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. To get the Nocturne pour un masque de tristesse, head inside the Dining Room of the Manor, you will find four deer-head-shaped crests on the wall; one on the pillar, one right-up the piano – beside the wall, one next to the painting in the wall, and fourth is on the wall next to the fire place. Interact with each to spin them around. This will unlock a hidden passage. Go inside and check the wooden crates, one will have the Record.

3. The island secret Manor entrance

Get on Esquie and swim to the northern side of the island, it’s just above the Lost Woods and below Blades’ Graveyard. Look for a door that leads into the manor. Once you are inside, make your way to the Library.

Now go up the spiral staircase and check out the set of books right in front of you, they will reveal a hidden room. Step inside and grab the Civilian Outfit (Verso). After that, head back out and look to the shelves on the right side of the stairs. Jump above the shelves till you reach the end and find the Colour of Lumina.

4. Monoco the Dog Secret

Head to the second floor of the manor to the leftmost hallway, and you will come across a big painting. You can jump across the painting, and then you will discover a secret room filled with dog paintings. If you look closely, one of the dogs is wearing a collar with a bell that looks just like the one on Monaco’s starting weapon. Combine that with the fact that Sandfall office dog is also named Monaco, and now it is clear that the Monaco in your party is a tribute to Verso and Clea’s pet.

5. The Manor Unknown Journal Painting secret

When you are in the manor’s entrance hall, look above the right staircase, and you will see an empty picture frame. Go ahead and place the painting you picked up from The Canvas into that frame. To get the painting you need to solve the Painting Workshop Mystery. Doing this will unlock the door at the end of the long hallway.

Head through it, and you will enter the manor’s painting room, which looks completely different from the rest of the place. Right in front of the big canvas at the back, you’ll find a journal. This one’s different, it doesn’t have a name or number, just the word ‘Unknown’.

How to Solve the Painting Workshop Mystery

To get the Canvas Picture, you need to find and complete all three Painting Workshops. Each time you finish one and meet the Faceless Boy, he will hand you one of three items: the Light, the Heart, or the Shape of the Beast. Once you’ve collected all three, keep exploring the area until you come across a group of statues. Interact with them and use the Light of the Beast three times. That will summon a hidden boss known as the Lampmaster.

You can find the three Painting Workshops in different hidden spots across the map. The first one is on a small island northeast of the Stone Wave Cliffs. The second is located northwest of the Forgotten Battlefield, so head in that direction to track it down. To find the third painting, you need to reach the floating island east of Sirene and Sirene’s Dress. To get there, you’ll need to use Esquie’s flying ability, so make sure you’ve unlocked it before attempting the climb.

After you’ve beaten the Lampmaster and wrapped up the mystery, don’t forget to speak to the Faceless Boy near the exit. He’ll reward you with a Perfect Chroma Catalyst, which lets you fully upgrade one of your weapons to level 33.
