Through your efforts, you will gather evidence, ingratiate yourself with locals, and make crucial decisions that determine Casper’s destiny.
To start this mission, locate Casper Rudolf north of the fountain in Kuttenberg City and accept his offer to help him. Your initial mission is to win over Havel, the proprietor of the Emperor Charles Tavern in the north of the city.
Join him for a drink and participate in a wine tasting. During this, you will face a series of drinking skill checks that influence your reputation with him. However, the key moments depend on how you answer his questions, particularly when he asks about your origins and follows up with related inquiries.
How to Impress Havel
To ensure the best outcome, choose the following responses:

Passing the other drinking skill checks doesn’t matter if you select these responses correctly.
Search Havels Office
If you cannot impress Havel, you must get his Ledger. Head upstairs to find Havel’s office on the first floor behind the door on the left. Inside, you will see a dark-colored chest to the right. Open it and take Innkeeper Havel’s Ledgers.
The chest is locked (difficulty: hard), but Havel carries the key. If lockpicking isn’t an option, try pickpocketing him while asleep. Consider using a Quickfinger Potion to boost your thievery skills and improve your chances, mainly if you haven’t focused on leveling up pickpocketing.
Tips
- If you plan to impress Havel, improve your drinking skills beforehand by consuming alcohol in small amounts and practicing drinking-related interactions.
- Before joining Havel for the wine tasting, save your game. This allows you to retry if you fail the conversation checks.
- If you need to steal the ledger but lack pickpocketing experience, drink a Quickfinger Potion to enhance your chances.
