Sacrificial Heart POE2 Location and How to Use

The Sacrificial Heart is an extremely powerful artifact in Path of Exile 2, one that gives an enormous boost to the character’s abilities. The process of achieving its benefits starts with a one-of-a-kind quest: collecting the Heart itself, finding a particular dagger, and finding a secret altar. It will explain each step of this process, tell you where the locations are located, and at the end, walk you through using it to enhance your character permanently.

How to Get the Sacrificial Heart

The Sacrificial Heart is a rare treasure you can only get by defeating specific enemies in Act 3. These enemies appear in two places: Utzaal and Aggorat. Utzaal is the first area you visit after traveling back in time, and Aggorat comes right after.

Since you don’t know which enemy will drop the Heart, you have to kill absolutely every enemy you encounter in both areas. If you’re lucky, the Heart will drop from one of them. However, if you kill all the enemies and still don’t find the Heart, you’ll need to ‘reset’ the areas. This means restarting the game and trying again to find and defeat all the enemies in Utzaal and Aggorat.

The best places to find a Sacrificial Heart are when fighting strong enemies like Vaal Goliaths and Vaal Overseers, particularly in the Utzaal area. While these enemies also appear in Aggorat, reaching Aggorat directly can be challenging. However, there’s an easier way to get there. In Utzaal, you might hear chanting coming from a specific area. Defeat the Legion Blockade boss in that area, and then look for a giant statue. Climb the stairs located behind the statue, and this will lead you directly to Aggorat.

How to Use the Sacrificial Heart

To use the Sacrificial Heart, you’ll need to complete a special quest:

    1. Find the Sacrificial Dagger: This is a unique item you’ll need to locate within the game world.
    2. Enter Aggorat:
      • You’ll need to travel to the area of Utzaal.
      • Defeat the Viper Napuatzi boss there.
      • This will unlock your entry into Aggorat.
    3. Locate the Altar:
      • The altar’s position changes each time you enter Aggorat, so you’ll have to explore to find it.
      • It’s usually located in the northeastern part of the map.

Once you’ve found the Sacrificial Dagger and the altar in Aggorat, you’ll place the Heart down. This will present you with the option to “Stab Sacrificial Heart.” When you choose this, your character will perform a short animation where they kneel and stab the Heart. This act destroys the Heart and removes it from your inventory permanently. However, this sacrifice is rewarded with a permanent boost to your character’s power: you’ll gain 2 extra Passive Skill Points and 2 extra Weapon Skill Points, making your character stronger in the long run.

You can encounter this quest on both Normal and Cruel difficulty levels in the game. The process remains the same: you’ll need to find the Sacrificial Heart, locate the designated “Blood Sacrifice” area, and then stab the Heart there.

The reward for completing this quest is the same on both difficulties: you’ll receive 2 extra Weapon Set Passive Skill Points and 2 extra Passive Skill Points. This means that if you complete the quest on both Normal and Cruel, you’ll ultimately gain a total of 4 extra Weapon Set Passive Skill Points and 4 extra Passive Skill Points for your character, making them significantly more powerful.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets. Hodophile by nature and aspiring to get lost in Hang Sơn Đoòng cave in Vietnam someday!
