The Dinosaur bones are scattered across every major region, from the Heartlands and Ambarino to Big Valley, New Austin, and the deserts near Tumbleweed. Each location section points you to specific landmarks like hills, riversides, caves, mountain edges, abandoned houses, and rock formations so you can track down every fossil with ease. This guide helps you find all 30 dinosaur bone locations in Red Dead Redemption 2 for Deborah MacGuiness’s quest, A Test of Faith.
All Dinosaur Bones Locations
As you explore the wide open world of Red Dead Redemption 2, you will meet Deborah MacGuiness, a palaeontologist. She is usually found by a rock on a small hill just northeast of Flatneck Station. Talk to her, and she will give you a mission called A Test of Faith. She wants you to track down 30 dinosaur bones hidden all over the map. Besides helping you complete the quest and earn its rewards, each bone you find also gives you +5 Dead Eye XP, which helps level up your Dead Eye skill.
Dinosaur Bone Location #1
Go towards the Heartlands region. Here, you will find Oil Durick. Below the oil extraction point, you will find a ladder. Climb down the ladder. Inside the pit, you will see the dinosaur bone.
Dinosaur Bone Location #2
In the Heartlands region, head south of Oil Durick. You will find a small hill. At the foot of the hill, you will find a few bushes. Near the bush, you will find your dinosaur bone.

Head south of the Heartlands region. You will reach the train line. In the grassland, near the train line, you will find the dinosaur bone just near the bushes.

Go towards the north of Old Greenbank Mill. Here, in the middle of the forest, you will find an open ground. The dinosaur bone is located near a boulder.

In the Dewberry Creek, you will find a dried river bed. Near the riverside, you will find the dinosaur bone located near a boulder.

Go to the location marked on the map above. You will find an abandoned house. Look beside the house, you will see the dinosaur bone just near the trees.

Head north of Elysian Pool. Near the riverside, you will find a mountain. Climb up the mountain, and you will find the dinosaur bone near the bush.

Go towards the north Van Horn Trading Post, and you will find a forest. In the middle of the forest, you will find the dinosaur bone kept between the trees.
