If you’re on the Down and Outbound mission in Borderlands 4, you’ll get an optional objective to recover four pieces of Order contraband hidden inside the Outbounders HQ. It’s not required to finish the quest, but completing it will reward you with extra XP, money, and Eridium for upgrades. This guide will show you exactly where to find all four contraband pieces so you don’t miss out.
Recover Order Contraband Locations in Borderlands 4
You’ll start the Down and Outbound mission at the Abandoned Post in the Fadefields, right after finishing the Recruitment Drive quest. Claptrap is the one giving you this job, and he’ll send you off toward the Outbounders HQ.
Just follow the path from Claptrap’s place and the mission marker will point you straight to the surveillance center where the Spymaster is waiting. Before you head inside, your companion Rush will pop up with an optional task collecting four pieces of Order contraband hidden in the building. It’s totally optional, but it’s worth doing before you face the Spymaster so you don’t miss anything along the way.
First Contraband
Start from the west side of the area and head straight in. Try to ignore the enemies if you just want to move quickly. The first contraband is inside a building right ahead. Walk in, grab it, and that’s one done.
Second Contraband
After leaving the building, turn right and move across the central area. You’ll see a door on the other side head inside, and you’ll find the second contraband waiting there.
Third Contraband
From here, go back out and take the stairs nearby. Keep climbing until you reach a platform area. Follow the path to the left, and along the way you’ll spot the third contraband box.
Fourth Contraband
Next, keep heading forward, climbing stairs and using the ladder you come across. There’s a boss fight up top, but you don’t actually need to fight unless you want the XP. Right before you reach the boss area, look to the side you’ll see the final contraband. Easy to miss since it’s right along the path.
And that’s all four Order Contraband locations! Once you grab the last one, you’re done with this objective. Once you’ve grabbed all four contraband pieces, you’ll get some nice extras bonus XP, a pile of cash, and a bit of Eridium you can use for upgrades.
