Rassvet Keratan & GA-KO Collectable Locations in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater

Rassvet is one of the first places you will explore in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and it hides a few Kerotans and a Ga-Ko doll you can collect. These little frog and duck mascots are scattered all over the game, and finding them is part of an achievement. The Kerotans are tied to unlocking Stealth Camouflage, while the Ga-Ko doll gives you a special camo pattern and even helps you track down Kerotans by letting you hear their calls. In this guide, we will go through all of their exact spots in Rassvet so you don’t miss any.

The GA-KO is a little doll based on a cartoon duck, usually shown standing proudly. If you unlock the GA-KO camo, it’s covered in colourful smiling duck faces on a white background. It doesn’t really help with camouflage, but it does have one special perk: it lets you hear Kerotans calling out, which makes them easier to find. In the Metal Gear series, GA-KO and Kerotan go hand in hand as mascot counterparts: the duck and the frog. Both are known for their distinct little sounds.

Kerotans, on the other hand, are frog dolls scattered throughout Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. There are 64 of them total, hidden across all the areas in both the Virtuous Mission and Operation Snake Eater. If you manage to hit all of them in one playthrough, you will earn the Kerotan title and unlock Stealth Camouflage for future runs. You can activate them by shooting, using a tranq dart, explosives, a knife or fork, or even just punching and kicking. In the HD Edition, the very first Kerotan you hit also gives you the “Prince Charming” trophy.

1. Kerotan

When you first enter the area, head straight north into the half-ruined building. On the left side of the staircase, there’s a wall with two holes. Don’t confuse it with the crawl-through hole; look through the smaller one next to it, and you will spot the Kerotan inside.

2. Ga-Ko

From that same ruined building, head around to the back, toward the left of where you normally meet Sokolov. You will find some crates here. Look at the back side of the crates. Ga-Ko is kept on a shelf.

3. Kerotan

Go to the spot where you picked up the AK-47. Look under the nearby staircase, and you will find the Kerotan tucked away there.

4. Ga-Ko

This one’s on the roof of the building where you first meet Eva. It’s perched on a corner support beam. You can either shoot it from the AK-47 staircase or climb the ladder behind the building to get up on the roof and take the shot from there.
