Highlights
- A breakdown of the key facilities that keep the base functioning as it grows.
- An overview of how different buildings support survivors, security, and operations.
- Why do certain facilities become more important in later stages of the game?
Managing the stations for supplying the survivors at the Checkpoint is just as important as maintaining their living quarters. During this process of reviewing the last couple of base buildings, you will see all the buildings and understand what they do, as well as how to use them effectively, as your base’s total number of facilities continues to grow.

Generator
The generator is responsible for supplying electricity to your entire base. All facilities and defenses against zombies depend on the generator’s power supply to operate. The power requirements of your base will continue to increase as the number of facilities built grows. It is a core part of your infrastructure and the base’s operations. Upgrading it to Generator 3 will increase the fuel efficiency and increase your power output. It is recommended to upgrade your generator first, as most other buildings require power to function.
Tents (Survivors Housing)
Tents represent the capacity of your base to provide shelter to survivors. The proper management of survivors in tents can provide economic benefits as well as a place for research and the successful management of the population. Therefore, upgrade tents to Tent 5 level as soon as possible. Keep in mind that the number of survivors will always increase, so extra capacity will always come in handy.
Canteen

The canteen provides food to survivors, and the hydroponics systems produce meals for the facility automatically, enabling the survivors to be less dependent on food sources outside of the base while allowing the base to maintain a sustainable level of food resources in the long-term.
Defense Center
The defense center is the component of the base that controls the active defense systems of your base. Upgrading your defense center enhances the efficiency and speed of your weapon systems and prepares you to respond more effectively to a zombie attack. In mid to late game, the intensity of zombie attack intensifies, and an upgraded defence center will provide faster reloads and allow you to manoeuvre cannons more effectively.
Security Towers
The base has internally implemented security measures through the deployment of security towers to help reduce the risk of infected individuals spreading infection within secure areas of the camp, thereby providing an extra layer of security to control and monitor personnel’s movement through the base.
Checkpoint Tools
Improvements in checkpoint building and upgrading, in conjunction with tools like metal detectors, will significantly enhance the efficiency of inspections, as well as facilitate better identification of contraband brought in by survivors (such as weapons or prohibited items), ultimately helping to minimize human error at checkpoints.
Medical Center

A medical facility where survivors are treated and where medical supplies are stored and used. It supports the health of quarantined survivors and can be upgraded to hold more supplies or improve treatment efficiency.
Quarantine Beds
The quarantine area houses survivors with potential infection for observation. These beds and the overall quarantine facility can be expanded or upgraded to hold more people and reduce outbreak risks within your base.
