You’ve got a quick guide coming your way to complete the Pumpkin Peril quest in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. Find out about Eogan and how to unlock the quest, the seemingly elusive Pumpkin Seeds in Rescree, and the eerie happenings along the way that tie this Wyrdness-infused journey together.
How to Get Pumpkin Seeds
To get to Pumpkin Seeds in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, you’ll want to start a rather unique questline centered around Eogan. He’s inside the Fortress but finding your way to him isn’t just a straight shot. You start by going around the Shooting Range, following the path up with ladders and catwalks along the western wall. Finally, you’ll spot a blue canopy and a chicken coop, under which Eogan will be waiting nearby.
Step 1: Roots of Knowledge
After meeting him, you’ll be given a quest titled Roots of Knowledge. To move forward, follow the marker to meet Rauric, who’ll explain more about the Keeper and his unusual rooftop garden. Eogan will then hand over some seeds and ask you to plant them in the planters next to him.
- Waiting Time: Approx. 36 in-game hours
- Next Step: Harvest the Mysterious Root and take it back to Eogan.
After this, Eogan will give you yet another task—to find the Pumpkin Seeds. That counts as starting the Pumpkin Peril quest.
Step 2: Starting Pumpkin Peril

You can find the seeds by traveling to Roscree, far to the northwest of the Horns of the South. There is a small, silent farmhouse, where you finish the Spread Your Wings quest. It appears empty during the day, but once night falls and the Wyrdness arrives, everything changes.
- Who to Speak To: A skeleton appeared in the field at night, the one on the right
- Reward: The Pumpkin Seeds
- Go back to Eogan during the day and complete the rest of the quest.
Note: Sometimes the skeletons won’t show up even if you’re there at night. Try fast traveling away and then back, or walk away a short distance from the farmhouse and return after a few moments. That usually gets the NPCs to appear.
Step 3: Consequences
After a few days, your efforts take a nasty turn. One of the planters spawns an abomination, and you’ll be forced to take it down. This event is unavoidable—no matter what dialogue options you choose, the outcome remains the same.
This questline is just one of many eerie experiments with the Wyrdness you’ll encounter as you unravel the mysteries of Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
