The Precious Cargo side quest in Dying Light: The Beast starts out as a basic retrieval quest, but complexity soon arises. From missing an ammo container, you quickly start working your way through a mazy warehouse, powering up a crane, and getting ambushed by a merciless Ringleader. This guide will summarize each part of the quest so you can complete Dying Light: The Beast’s Precious Cargo quest with ease.
Starting the Quest

The Precious Cargo side quest begins once you have a conversation with Keller at Town Hall. Keller tells you about an ammo shipment that went missing in a water duct near a warehouse. What looks like a basic retrieval, turns into a challenge of navigating through a warehouse and powering up a crane.
Travel to the water duct by the warehouse, and proceed to use your Survivor Sense to see the container. Dive into the water to update your quest, and then return into the air, where you will see three cranes are marked. The crane you want is the magnet crane, which is located next to a white truck, and out of power.
To restore it, move left of the warehouse and climb the metal structure with a crane to enter through a window. The place is full of Infected, so clear them gradually. From the window, crawl through a vent, slip between two office doors, and drop into a chamber. Loot a side room, then use the floor opening to reach a hallway. Enter the second door on the left to find the switchgear.
Powering the Crane & Ambush

Grab the first cable and climb into a storage room through a broken ceiling, where a recording distracts nearby Infected. Connect the wire for partial power, then grab the second cable, exit through the unlocked door, and jump to the magnet crane to finish restoring power.
Trying to open the container triggers an ambush by the Ringleader and his men. You can either keep all the loot or give him one crate for military med-kits. The second option is recommended since med-kits are far more useful than ammo later on.
Completion & Rewards
Return to Keller at the Town Hall to wrap up the quest. He’ll follow up by radio afterward. For completing Precious Cargo, you’ll earn 7,500 XP, two Basic Manual Pages. Stick to the vent-and-room path, prepare for the ambush, and you’ll finish the quest efficiently without wasted time.
