If you’re playing Pokémon Legends Z-A, Beldum is one of the most exciting Pokémon to add to your team, thanks to its powerful final evolution Metagross. But it’s a late-game catch, so don’t expect to find it too early in your adventure. To access Beldum, you’ll need to progress through the story and reach Rank A, which unlocks the hidden Lysandre Labs.
Where to Find Beldum: Exploring Lysandre Labs
Beldum can be found inside Lysandre Labs, a secret research facility hidden beneath the Lysandre Café in the Magenta Sector, northeast of Wild Zone 7. You’ll unlock access to this area as part of the main story mission “Reaching Rank A.”
Once inside Lysandre Labs, it is somewhat difficult to navigate. Utilize your mini-map to assist in navigating. Approach the left from the entrance through a door, and continue left through the green-marked room on your map. Take the south exit, turn left, and proceed through a north-bound door that appears into a corridor. The door on the left in the corridor is the first one that goes into the room with all the Beldum.
Lysandre Labs is an area that’s multi-level with a number of warp panels and keycards that you’ll require to move forward. You’ll have to power parts of the lab using consoles to turn things on and obtain keycards to unlock doors as you move along. There are wild Pokémon and Alpha Pokémon in certain rooms, so you can expect battles as you go looking for Beldum.
How to Evolve Beldum into Metang and Metagross
Beldum only evolves through leveling—there are no wild spawns for Metang, so you’ll need to raise your Beldum to Level 20 to evolve it into Metang. Keep training and leveling up Metang to Level 45, and it will evolve into Metagross.
You can also encounter Metagross in the wild at Wild Zone 20, but this zone unlocks only after completing Main Mission 38: The Future of Lumiose City. Even then, Metagross appears only as a rare Level 64+ Alpha Pokémon, so it may take multiple visits and attempts to find one.
