Join a danger-laden ride deep into the bowels of feudal Japan through Assassin’s Creed Shadows, wherein looming Osaka Castle rises as the bastion of mysteries and risks. Inside its sturdy walls lies your daunting quest of killing three highly skilled Samurai and opening the doors to an acclaimed chest replete with much coveted rewards. This walkthrough will offer you exact positions for the castle, the key, the targets for the Samurais, and the precious chest, making sure you pass through this challenging mission with subtlety and accuracy.
Osaka Castle Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To locate Osaka Castle, you’ll have to go to the Izumi-Settsu province, more precisely in the Osaka area, on the western border of Settsu. From your hideout, simply go straight west, and you’ll arrive.
The castle has several construction areas around it and multiple entrances, such as the south main entrance. The easiest way to go in is through the southwest corner. You may climb up another building and take a rope through to enter from there, but you can only do this if you have Naoe with you.
Osaka Castle Samurai Location
Inside Osaka Castle, there are three Samurai you need to assassinate in order to unlock the legendary chest and fully complete the area. You can eliminate them in any order you prefer. To make things easier, it’s best to stay on higher ground and use Observation to spot your targets. When using Observation, Samurai will be marked with a helmet icon above their heads, making them easier to track.
First Samurai
Within the interior of Osaka Castle, you have three Samurai that you must kill to unlock the legendary chest and completely finish the area. These can be killed in whatever order you want. To simplify things, it is best to remain on elevated terrain and utilize Observation to locate your targets. Samurai can be highlighted when using Observation as a helmet icon above their heads.
Second Samurai
The second one you’ll find inside Osaka Castle is wandering around buildings in the southeast quarter. This one you want to keep to rooftops. Spot and mark them, then wait for them to pass underneath you before attempting an aerial execution. Expect to fight, however, if they do survive the attack.
Third Samurai
The third Samurai in Osaka Castle is located in the southwest section of the castle grounds. Just like with the others, stay hidden and look for an opportunity to strike from above. If the assassination doesn’t finish them off, be ready to fight and take them down.
Osaka Castle Chest Location
Once you’ve taken out all three Samurai, you can unlock the Osaka Castle Legendary Chest. It’s located in the top room of the tower with the viewpoint, in the northeast corner of the castle grounds. To reach it, climb the side of the tower until you get to the top floor, where you’ll find a balcony wrapping around the outside. Look for an open door, head inside, and you’ll find the chest beneath the window. Loot it to complete Osaka Castle.
Osaka Castle Key Location
The Osaka Castle Kura Key is carried by a Samurai with a fan in the northeast quadrant. Defeating him will automatically grant you the key. Completing Osaka Castle rewards you with Peasant Clothes (Legendary Light Armor), the Assassination with Attack engraving, 3,000 XP, and three Mastery Points.
