Before you can continue on to part four of the Rekindling of the Flame quest, you will need to collect a rare healing herb called Avinea to heal Jasper. The quest does not provide any marker for this location which makes it easy to miss. This guide will outline where to find the healing herb along with what actions you must perform in order to collect Avinea without wasting any time.
How to Locate Avinea in the Highlands
To get Avinea, players need to complete a short sequence of events in the Highlands. Start at Shepherds Rock, a settlement located within the region. Once you arrive at the village entrance, you’ll find yourself in Castle Square (the main part of the village), which has a fountain. Look to your left and you will see an NPC called the Peddler of Varied Goods; he has in his possession a herb called Apinea that doesn’t seem relevant at this point—yet you must pay for it!
After buying Apinea, the peddler explains that Avinea is no longer in season. However, he adds that the plant can still be found growing inside the Cavern of Mists. This conversation is crucial; Avinea will not appear in the game world until this exchange takes place.
Once the dialogue is complete, leave Shepherds Rock and follow the North Shepherds Rock Pass heading north. This path leads directly to the Cavern of Mists. Inside the cave, make your way toward the bottom-right section of the map. You’ll find a glowing blue interaction point marked with an exclamation symbol. Interact with it to collect Avinea.
After obtaining Avinea, return to Clearbrook to hand it over and conclude this portion of Rekindling of the Flame Pt. 4.
