Ninja Gaiden 2 Black boasts a stylish wardrobe for its playable characters, offering 13 unique costumes to unlock.  This guide details how to obtain each outfit for Ryu Hayabusa, Momiji, Rachel, and Ayane, from simple playthrough rewards to challenging Master Ninja achievements and Tag Mission completions.

All Characters Outfits and How To Get All Costumes

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black offers a decent variety of outfits for your character, with 13 different costumes to choose from. Many of these are unlocked simply by completing the game.

    Ryu Hayabusa

    1. You start with Ryu’s iconic black ninja outfit, the “Legendary Black Falcon.”
    2. You can unlock his classic “Ninja Gaiden” costume by finishing the game on any difficulty above Acolyte (Normal).
    3. For the “Dragon Muscles” outfit, you’ll need to complete 10 Tag Missions. A good strategy is to tackle the Acolyte Tag Missions with Rachel as your partner, as she’s a powerful ally.
    4. Finally, the challenging “Fiend Hayabusa” costume is yours for conquering the game on Master Ninja difficulty – the hardest setting, which unlocks after your first playthrough.

    Momiji

    1. Momiji begins with her standard “Shrine Maiden Ninja” outfit.
    2. Her “Monk Robes” are a reward for completing the game on either Mentor (Very Hard) or the grueling Master Ninja difficulty. This is best saved for a second playthrough unless you’re a Ninja Gaiden veteran! Since these difficulties are so challenging, it’s wise to collect all the Jewels of the Demon Seal to boost your Ninpo magic.
    3. The “Indigo-Dyed Happi” is earned by achieving a Master Ninja rank five times in Chapter Challenges. This mode, which unlocks as you progress through the story, lets you replay chapters and grades your performance. To snag that Master Ninja rank, you’ll need to dispatch enemies quickly, collect lots of Essence, and maximize your score with Ultimate Techniques, Obliteration Techniques, combos, and swift kills. Basically, channel your inner ninja and be both fast and deadly!

    Rachel

    1. Rachel starts with her “Natural Up” outfit.
    2. Her “Business Suit” is another reward for conquering the game on Mentor or Master Ninja difficulty definitely, a task best suited for a second playthrough.
    3. For the “Demon’s Vacation” outfit, you’ll need to earn a Master Ninja rank 10 times in Chapter Challenges. As with Momiji’s “Indigo-Dyed Happi,” this means achieving top marks in 10 different chapters within the Chapter Challenge mode. With 17 chapters in the game, this gives you some flexibility. A helpful tip: you can replay the same chapter on different difficulties to earn multiple Master Ninja ranks, making the grind a bit easier. Unlocking the Chapter Select menu after your first playthrough makes this strategy even more efficient.

    Ayane

    1. Ayane begins with her “Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2” outfit, familiar to fans of the original game.
    2. Her “Ninja Gaiden Sigma” costume, a throwback to the first game, is earned by finishing the game on Mentor or Master Ninja difficulty – a tough feat!
    3. For the “Dead or Alive 5” outfit, you’ll need to complete 20 Tag Missions. Any 20 will do, so it’s a good idea to start with the easiest ones. As with the other characters, Rachel is a highly recommended ally for these missions, as her strength can make them significantly easier.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets. Hodophile by nature and aspiring to get lost in Hang Sơn Đoòng cave in Vietnam someday!
