Nijo Palace Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Nijo Palace is in Kyoto, a massive city in the Yamashiro region. It’s fairly close to the east fork of the river and sits just north of Honnoji Temple.
Most of the palace’s exterior can be climbed using a grappling hook, except for areas where the walls meet the water and the largest exterior structure, the one with the viewpoint at the top. Otherwise, you’re free to climb up wherever you want.
Nijo Palace Chest Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
The legendary chest is located at the top of the tallest structure, which sits in the southwest corner. You can access it through a trap door at the top of the building, leading directly into the room with the chest.
Inside, you’ll find one of the best armor pieces in the game for Yasuke, the Protector’s Armor. This armor lets Yasuke counter normally dangerous red attacks, reducing the number of situations where he needs to dodge.
Nijo Palace Key Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Nijo Palace Kura Key is located in the northeast part of the area. Head to the far end of the northeast section, then look to your left to find the first door. Enter, and you’ll see the key inside the room. Be cautious, there are enemies inside.
Nijo Palace Samurai Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Nijo Palace has just two samurai, and they’re positioned fairly close to each other, making it one of the fastest locations to clear in the game. That said, we recommend entering from the north side. Both samurai are stationed there, so you’ll have fewer enemies to sneak past before reaching them.
Location of First Samurai

This location is more to the northwest. A small section of the castle is completely walled off, with barred doors serving as the only entrances and exits. The samurai is inside, surrounded by several guards.
There’s an explosive in the area that you can use to take out at least one guard and deal significant damage to the samurai.
Be aware that this samurai has an ability to summon reinforcements. If you engage him in combat, make sure to stagger him when he starts activating it to stop him from calling for backup.
One of the reinforcements will be armed with a firearm. If they show up, take them out as quickly as possible—they can be a serious threat while you’re focused on the samurai.
Location of Second Samurai

The second samurai patrols the northeast corner of the palace. Two guards are nearby, one stationed in a small room and another moving back and forth near the pond. Fortunately, there are plenty of bushes in the area, making it easy to stay hidden and use stealth.
If you do get into a fight with this samurai, watch out for their poison attacks. They can also dodge backward and throw daggers, allowing them to strike from unexpected angles.
