Wingdrake Hide is an Equipment Material in Monster Hunter Wilds, essential for crafting armor pieces and various Talismans. It’s also a key component in certain Kinsect upgrades, making it highly valuable for Insect Glaive users. Fortunately, obtaining Wingdrake Hide isn’t too challenging, and this guide outlines the best locations to find it.
Wingdrake Hide Locations in Monster Hunter Wilds
Baunos
Wingdrake Hides can be obtained by carving the carcasses of Baunos, small flying monsters found in the Windward Plains of Monster Hunter Wilds. These creatures are commonly spotted soaring in Areas 8, 10, 11, and 13. Players exploring these locations should keep an eye on the skies to locate them easily.
Once a Baunos is in sight, players should aim their Slingers at it. When the monster is within range, an input prompt will appear above it—pressing the indicated button will pull the Baunos down. From there, players can use their preferred weapon to defeat the creature and carve its body to obtain a Wingdrake Hide.
Note: For a more precise search, the Filter Icons feature can be incredibly useful. To utilize it, players should open the map, select Filter Icons in the bottom-left corner, navigate to the Small Monsters tab, and choose Baunos to set a waypoint. After marking the target, players can summon their Seikret mount and use the auto-move feature to reach the winged creature effortlessly.
Harpios
Wingdrake Hides can also be obtained by carving the carcasses of Harpios, small flying monsters found in both the Scarlet Forest and Oilwell Basin. In the Forest, players should focus on Areas 9, 12, and 15, while Area 2 is the best spot to find Harpios in the Basin.
Unlike Baunos, Harpios are often found on the ground, making them easier targets for players. Once defeated, these small wyverns can be carved to obtain a Wingdrake Hide.
Note: As with Baunos, the Filter Icons feature can help locate Harpios more easily. Players can access this tool by opening their map and selecting Filter Icons from the bottom-left corner.
Remember: It’s important to note that Low Rank Harpios and Baunos drop Wingdrake Hide, while High Rank versions drop Wingdrake Hide+. These materials are the only possible drops from these monsters, guaranteeing that every carve yields one of them.
