Mark of the Brotherhood KCD2

The “Mark of the Brotherhood” quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2) is a follow-up to your participation in the Swordfighting Guild. After going through the challenges of “Ars Dimicatoria,” this quest explores the internal politics of the guild, asking you to retrieve and restore a valuable guild sword. Be prepared for a mix of investigation, negotiation, and crafting as you deal with devious characters and ultimately earn your place in the brotherhood.

How to Start the Mark of the Brotherhood

After finishing the Ars Dimicatoria quest, wait a few in-game days. Then, head over to the Swordfighting Guild near the Black Horse Tavern and find Menhard. Talk to him and choose the option “What are you planning next?” to kick off the Mark of the Brotherhood quest.

Guild Sword Location

Your mission is to retrieve the guild sword from Emmeram. Head over to his butcher shop in the Smugglers’ storehouse area and talk to him. He’ll claim he tossed the sword into a rubbish heap on the south side of the city. Search three different spots in the area, but you won’t find the sword. When that happens, go back to Emmeram. This time, he’ll reveal the truth and hand over the broken sword.

How To Complete The Mark Of The Brotherhood

Take the broken sword back to Menhard and explain what happened. He’ll then give you a new task, to repair the sword. Instead of just fixing it, you’ll need to reforge it at the blacksmith.

The closest blacksmith is northwest of Menhard’s location. Head there, interact with the anvil, and select the Guild Longsword.

To forge the sword, you’ll need:

  • 1 Fastening Material
  • 2 Toledo Steel

Once you’ve successfully reforged the guild sword, return to Menhard and hand it over. That will wrap up the Mark of the Brotherhood quest and get the 60 Groschen.
