In the Dying Light: The Beast, the Last Wish sidequest provides a rare but also moving moment in an otherwise dark world. Players are tasked with fulfilling an elderly woman’s final request, blending exploration, puzzle-solving, and careful navigation through hostile areas. The following guide will take you through the process of finding key items needed, discovering clues that are hidden, and getting to that reclusive safe–ensuring players can complete the quest with ease!
How to Begin the Quest
This quest starts with a trip to Henry’s burial site in a tiny garden area behind an old house. For the first step, you’ll simply have to find the grave and lay down a flower on it. After that, you will need to go inside the house. There is a ladder on one side of the house that you can climb and it will get you inside the house through a window that you’ll need to break. You do not need to kill every zombie you encounter, just focus on the main task which is searching the house to save time and resources.
Searching the House and Gathering Clues
In the house, you will find a number of important things. There is a personal note to Iris in the lounge, and a safe in the bedroom, which you use later. The kitchen has the collectible, Iris’s Quince Liquor, which you will need to pick up.
There are locked rooms inside and a vent in the basement that have loot for you, but you do not need to explore these to finish the quest. After you have explored inside the house, your next step would be to travel to town, where Henry’s shop is located, in order to acquire the combination needed to open the safe.
Chasing the Safe and Completing the Wish
Henry’s shop is part of a small Dark Zone in town. Inside, a lockpicked counter room holds a notebook with the safe code: 20-07-06. Returning to the house, you’ll notice the safe has disappeared from its original spot.
Following footprints with Survival Instincts leads you to a nearby barn, where clearing the enemies reveals three safes. The leftmost one contains the music box, the item that fulfills Iris’s wish. Bringing it back to her completes the quest and rewards you with two Intermediate Manual Pages, 10,000 XP, and a co-op Lootbox if playing with friends.
