In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, one of your first tasks after meeting Captain Thomas and setting up camp is to feed your loyal canine companion, Mutt. His insistent barking will alert you to his hunger, and you’ll quickly learn that the camp cook, Oats, is the key to appeasing Mutt’s appetite. However, Oats won’t simply hand over the food. He requires a favor first: the retrieval of his lost ring, currently in the possession of the gambler, Tankard. This sets you on a mini-quest involving a dice game, a hidden advantage, and ultimately, a happy dog.
Where To Find Food
Feeding Mutt is one of the first things you’ll do in Kingdom Come 2, as part of the “Easy Riders” quest. This quest kicks off at a camp by a pond near Trosky. There are a couple of ways to get Mutt some food, but the most obvious one is to talk to Oats, the guy cooking by the fire.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, right after you meet Captain Thomas and set up camp, you’ll need to feed your dog, Mutt. Mutt starts barking and making a fuss, bothering everyone. You’ll need to see what’s wrong with him. After checking him out, Henry realizes Mutt’s hungry and needs some food. When you’re back in control of Henry, you’ll see Mutt barking at Oats, who’s also the camp’s cook. Oats will tell you to whistle for Mutt to quiet him down. You can do that by holding down the ‘X’ key. To do that, you have to get some food from Oats. But Oats isn’t just going to hand it over. He wants his ring back from Tankard first. So, you’ve got to win the ring from Tankard in a dice game. While you could just play the game straight, there’s a trick to make winning a little easier.
How to play dice game
If you look behind Tankard and the dice game, you’ll spot a small cave entrance. Go inside and you’ll find a chest with a loaded die – it’s weighted so it rolls higher numbers more often. This will definitely give you an edge against Tankard! Take the weighted die back to the dice table and use it when you play him. Don’t worry if you lose a few rounds; you can keep playing until you win and get the ring back from him. The game is simple: whoever gets to 1,500 points first wins. It’s a pretty low target, so it shouldn’t be too hard. If you manage to beat Tankard at dice, he’ll give you Oats’ ring.
Where To Feed The Dog
Once you have the ring, go back to Oats and tell him you’ve got it. He’ll give you the sausage you need. Now you can feed Mutt! Just walk up to him, look at him, and then press Left+Alt and 1 to give him the sausage.
