Acquiring your own horse is important in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Pebbles, Henry’s horse, can be acquired, but the trader does not always readily let him go. This guide outlines how to reunite with Pebbles, including the best location to find him and the different methods you can use to bring him back to your stable, even if you’re short on groschen. We’ll cover both purchasing Pebbles and attempting to persuade the trader, along with tips on improving your chances of a free acquisition.
How To Get Pebbles Back For FREE
Bara, the beggar freed from the Troskowitz stocks, suggests Semine as the best place to find a horse. You’ll naturally travel to Semine during The Blacksmith’s Son quest, but you can visit anytime by taking the main road southwest from Troskowitz. If you’re looking for Pebbles early in the game, while Henry’s still in Troskowitz, the horse farm is located southwest of town. Leave Troskowitz with the apothecary on your left and follow the main road southwest without turning. This road will lead you directly to Semine. Once in Semine, go through the castle to the fenced area on the other side. The horse trader is located there.
How To Get Back Pebbles
You can get Pebbles back either by buying him from the trader for 160 groschen or by persuading him to give Pebbles back. Persuading the trader is tricky, but dressing Henry in clean, high-quality clothes will improve your chances. If you’ve already found Mutt, the Charming Companion perk (Houndsmaster category) will give you a +3 Charisma boost while Mutt’s with you. If you fail the persuasion attempt and don’t have enough groschen, you might want to find ways to make some quick money.
Once you have Pebbles, remember to equip the saddle and bridle from your inventory. They’re not great quality, so if you’ve got some spare cash, consider visiting the saddler in western Semine for better equipment.
Tips
- You can actually head to Semine right from the start of the game, even before doing much in Troskowitz. This lets you potentially get Pebbles early on.
- If you need groschen, consider hunting, selling herbs, or completing side quests to earn some quick cash.
- If you’ve already recruited Mutt, bring him along! The Charming Companion perk provides a helpful Charisma boost, making persuasion easier.
- Clean, high-quality clothing significantly boosts your chances of persuading the trader. It’s worth investing in some decent clothes before attempting the conversation.
