KCD2 Bohemians Rise Up! Trophy/Achievement Guide

Unlocking the “Bohemians Rise Up!” achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Brushes with Death DLC demands the painting of three Knight Shields using some precise designs. This guide will walk you through the quests involved, the patterns, colors, and crests you are meant to use—where to find the actual shields and how to fix your reputation if they catch you stealing.

How to Unlock the “Bohemians Rise Up!” Achievement

The Brushes with Death DLC allows you to meet an eccentric painter named Voyta early on in the Trosky region. Getting to know him is great since it gives you the route to some other cool rewards and utilities like the new Shield Painting option.

What’s the Deal With This Achievement?

Bohemians Rise Up is an achievement that requires the painting of three specific Knight Shields. However, it is not simply about slapping paint on—a series of rigid requirements must be adhered to regarding each shield’s pattern, colors, category being used, and one particular crest.

In the beginning, there will absence of all the required crests, as you would need to go through the Voyta storyline and complete two important quests first:

  • Portraits in Red – unlocks the Eagle Sable crest
  • Judgement Day – gives you the Lion Argent crest (this quest is part of the final stretch of the DLC)

Once you’ve finished both, go visit Voyta (he’ll be either in Trosky or Kuttenberg), and you’ll be able to start painting the Knight Shields.

Here’s What Each Shield Should Look Like:

First Knight Shield

  • Pattern: Barry Indented
  • Color 1: Gules
  • Color 2: Gules
  • Category: Historical
  • Crest: Lion Argent

Second Knight Shield

  • Pattern: Per Fess
  • Color 1: Azure
  • Color 2: Azure
  • Category: Historical
  • Crest: Moravian Eagle

Third Knight Shield

  • Pattern: Per Fess
  • Color 1: Or
  • Color 2: Or
  • Category: Historical
  • Crest: Eagle Sable

Note: The game can be a bit finicky with the colors—especially with Gules. If it doesn’t register, try switching to Bordeaux or Carnation and see if that does the trick.

Getting the Shields

You’ve got a few options here. The easiest way is to buy them from Blacksmiths or Carpenters—check out the carpenter in Troskowitz, who usually has a few in stock. Or, if you’re feeling sneaky, steal some from soldiers (just be careful not to get caught). If your reputation takes a hit, go on a Pilgrimage to restore your standing.
