In the Yamashiro area of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine is a critical location for Nao and Yasuke’s advancement. This multi-level complex, situated on a small island southeast of Kyoto, contains shrines that reward players with important rewards. Players need to find and pray at three major shrines to gain EXP and Knowledge Points, which are needed for character enhancements. This walkthrough identifies each shrine’s location so that players can get the most out of this sacred place.
Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine Locations
The Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine is located in Japan’s Yamashiro region, on a small island southeast of Kyoto, near Ogura Pond and just east of Shoryuji. Throughout the shrines, you’ll find either lost pages that need collecting or shrines that require prayer. Honoring these shrines grants a significant amount of EXP and a Knowledge Point, which can be used to upgrade Nao and Yasuke. Some of these locations also hide surprisingly well-concealed collectibles.

First Shrine Location
The Iwashimizu Shrine is surprisingly expansive, given its somewhat secluded location. This multi-tiered complex serves as a residence for those of religious backgrounds. Thankfully, most of the shrines are situated close to one another, while the rear section is reserved for priests. If you’re approaching from the east, the first shrine to pay respects to is immediately on your left upon entering. It’s the three-closed-door structure next to the temizuya (purification fountain).
Second Shrine Location
From the last shrine, walk up the small set of stairs to the west, then turn left. The next shrine, identical to the first, features a three-closed-door design and has an exit leading to the forest just south of it.
Third Shrine Location
If you’re coming from the second shrine, the final one is nearby. After offering your prayers at the second shrine, continue west until you reach a brightly colored orange staircase. This leads to the shrine’s main building, but you can pray beneath the entrance to unlock the third and final shrine of the Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine.
