Infinite Lightning Storm Build for Titan Quest 2

If you want to kill your enemies with lightning and want a build, this Infinite Lightning Storm build is for you. It focuses on spamming Lightning Strike to build up Overload and Rage, turning that self-damaging mechanic into a massive source of power. With the right skills and passives, you will unlock a constant storm of lightning and fire while keeping your energy and health under control.

Infinite Lightning Storm Build

When you generate Overload, you take damage 1% of your maximum HP per stack, and that damage comes in as both fire and lightning. But with the right setup, Overload becomes the biggest source of power.

Lightning Strike

Lightning Strike, on its own, just hits once. Which is not that impressive. But you can change that by adding two stacks of repetition. After that, Lightning Strike will hit three times over one second. We will lose a bit of raw damage per hit, but the three strikes easily make up for it.

Each cast gives us three Overload stacks, and with passives, we get:

  • 30% more cast speed
  • 30% more damage
  • 30% reduced energy cost

It used to cost 120 energy, but now it will cost just 84.

Increasing Damage with Rage

Every first hit gives 1 Rage, and for each Rage stack, you deal 3% more damage. Another 30% bonus damage you will have if you’ve got 10 Rage. Later, you can increase this even further with passives to hit 40% more damage from Rage. If you cast Lightning Strike repeatedly, Overload stacks up quickly, hitting 12 stacks or more. It also starts draining your health.

Overload Scaling with Divinity

To control Overload and make it our strength, you need to invest in Divinity, specifically pushing it to Tier 3. In the Overcharge tree, you can pick up these key upgrades:

  • +30% damage for Overload-based skills
  • Overload lasts twice as long
  • You take 40% less damage from Overload
  • +2% lightning damage per Overload stack

With 18 Overload stacks, it is +48% lightning damage and very little health loss.

Energy Recovery with Overheat

This does a few key things in the Earth tree:

  • Increases Overload skill damage
  • Refunds 3 energy per Overload stack generated

Lightning Strike costs approximately 88 energy and gives 3 Overload. That’s a 9-energy refund per cast saving you tons over time.

Rage Overflow

You can also spec into Raging Storm, which increases your Rage effect from 30% to 40% more damage. But it gets better if you go beyond 13 Rage, you can trigger Rage Overflow. Rage Overflow gives a 20% chance to recover 80 energy a free Lightning Strike.

Fixing Energy Sustain

To patch up remaining energy issues, get:

  • Arcane Influx: +10% energy regen
  • Arcane Abundance from Earth: +1% energy regen per second

These passives work great with the rest of the build, and the more energy you have, the more efficient they become.

Passive Power

To make the damage up even higher:

  • Invest 17 points into Storm Nimbus for +24% lightning damage
  • Take Storm Intunement to add even more lightning spell damage
  • Grab Raging Mind, which lets Rage increase cast speed and spell damage

You can also invest in Storm Adaptation to reduce Overload damage by 10%, and boost Lightning Resistance, which helps since Overload deals fire and lightning damage. With everything running smoothly, your DPS can jump from 2,600 to over 3,600+ with the right Rage and Overload stacks.

Lightning Evoker

Skipping Lightning Evoker (which has a 10% chance to call lightning on non-active skills) is a great passive, but only if you invest all 8 points. You can focus on critical strike, energy efficiency, and more important boosts. Lightning Evoker will be a great addition later on when we have more points to spend.

Flame Volley

Each stack increases its damage by 6%. You can increase Flame Volley with:

  • Amplify Damage
  • Enhanced Amplify

Defensive Utility and Healing

For some survivability, spend your last active point on Barrier Heal.

  • Reduces barrier size
  • Heals 4% of your current barrier as red health per second

This offsets the passive health drain from Overload. You could also try revive guard to heal based on damage taken if you prefer.

Gear & Attributes

When it comes to gear:

  • Look for items that boost maximum energy (to increase regen)
  • Prioritize lightning damage, spell damage, and energy regeneration
  • Try to get an amulet with energy regen
  • Go for area skill boosts on your weapon (since Lightning Strike is an AoE)

As for attributes, focus almost everything into Knowledge, with a bit of Vigor for survivability. As you level up, there’s still plenty of room to grow:

  • Add fire damage per Overload stack to scale Flame Volley
  • Invest in Magma Shell to take even less Overload damage, and increase fire resistance, armor, and health

This build has a lot of potential to scale both offensively and defensively.
