This guide explains how to effectively use the Packer machine in Schedule 1. To get started, you’ll need to hire and assign a Handler. The Packer requires two input shelves for your product and packaging, and one designated output shelf. Setting up the correct routes in your journal is crucial for the Handler to transport materials. Pay close attention to assigning a destination shelf, as this is a common step that’s often missed. By following these instructions, you can automate your packing process.
How to Use the Packer Machine
The Packer’s easy once it’s set up properly: two shelves for input, one shelf for output. Just assign a Handler, link the routes, and you’re good to go. If it’s not running, chances are you forgot to set the destination shelf or your Handler’s just standing around doing nothing. Double-check your routes, fix what’s missing, and everything should run smoothly.
Get Yourself a Handler
The Packer won’t do anything on its own—you need to hire a Handler first. Head over to Manny at the warehouse near the pawn shop. It’ll cost you $1,000 upfront and then $200 per day to keep them working.
Important: Make sure you’ve got an extra bed on the property before hiring. No bed means no Handler. They won’t even show up.
Assign the Handler to the Packer
Once your Handler arrives, open your journal and press E while looking at them (make sure you’re not holding a clipboard). Then assign them to the Packer station.
You can assign up to three stations total, but let’s just focus on the Packer for now.
Load Up the Supplies
Your Packer needs two things:
- Something to pack (like weed or pills)
- Something to pack it in (like jars or baggies)
Put the product on one shelf, and the packaging on a different shelf.
Then open your journal and set up two routes:
- One from the product shelf to the Packer
- One from the packaging shelf to the Packer
Once that’s set, the Handler will start delivering both items to the station.
Don’t Forget the Output Shelf
Here’s the step most people miss: You have to set a shelf for the packed goods to go.
Open your journal, aim at the Packer, and assign a destination shelf. If you skip this, your Handler will just stand around looking confused, wondering where to put the finished product.
Handler Not Working? Here’s What to Check:
If your Handler is just standing there doing nothing, run through this checklist:
- Did you pay their $200 daily wage?
- Is it nighttime? They don’t work after dark.
- Are the shelves stocked with both product and packaging?
- Did you assign a destination shelf for the packed goods?
