How to Upgrade a Drone in Stellar Blade

In Stellar Blade, your drone isn’t just for travelling; it can be upgraded to unlock powerful new abilities. But before you can start upgrading, you’ll need to progress through the story a bit and gather some special materials. In this guide, we’ll walk you through exactly how to upgrade your drone and where to find the rare Drone Upgrade Modules you’ll need along the way.

How to Upgrade a Drone

You must first complete “Scavenger Adam,” the second major task in the game, before you may upgrade your drone. After that, you will reach Xion City. Return to the Tetrapod and speak with Lily and Adam after completing a few cutscenes and obtaining free roam access. By doing this, you will be able to upgrade your drone.

At supply camps, you can use the Repair Console to upgrade your drone. Simply interact with the interface to unlock additional drone capabilities if you have gathered the appropriate drone upgrade components.

There’s another way too, just talk to Lily in the Tetrapod area. She also gives you access to the Repair Console’s features and can help you upgrade the drone, as long as you have the upgrade modules needed.

It’s important to remember that drone improvements are permanent. Upgrades to drones cannot be undone, so be sure to consider your options thoroughly before making the change. This is in contrast to talents, which can be reset with an SP initialiser.

How to Get Drone Upgrade Modules

To upgrade your drone, you’ll need the Drone update Module, which is an important component of Stellar Blade. It’s pretty rare, so keep an eye out for it during your journey. You can get these modules in a few ways. One common method is by defeating those small, exploding robots you’ll often find them dropping Drone Upgrade Modules. They’re also hidden in chests throughout the different areas in the game, so it’s worth exploring thoroughly.

You’ll come across a good number of these modules during the Altess Levoire and Abyss Levoire missions, since those sections focus heavily on using the drone. If you’re short on modules, there’s another option: you can buy a limited amount from D1G-g2r, a vendor located in the Wasteland region.
