How to Unlock Molten Gold in Black Ops 7

Unlocking Molten Gold in Black Ops 7 will require more planning than you think. With the campaign giving very limited control over your loadout, it can feel like a grind at first. This guide will outline the most efficient way to push through the story, farm the challenges in Endgame, and finish the special enemy requirements quickly and safely in order to unlock Molten Gold.

Clearing the Campaign First

Throughout the Campaign, you are given random weapons depending on the mission. You are able to change guns at a couple of points, but you never have complete control over them. Because of this, it is not worth the time and effort to grind for camos here. Just collect whatever headshots you get along the way, push through the story with the focus on unlocking Endgame.

If you haven’t completed the story yet, the only other way into Endgame is to join another player who has it unlocked. That depends on whether you’re up for coordinating with other people.

Why Endgame Is the Best Camo Farming Mode

Once Endgame becomes available, you finally get access to loadouts—which changes everything. The mode has four difficulty tiers, but Tier 1 and Tier 2 are ideal early on because enemies are weaker and the pacing stays constant. You’ll be surrounded by action almost nonstop thanks to contract zones and points of interest, which makes the headshot requirement feel much more manageable.

Weapon-Specific Challenges

Every weapon has three personalized camo tasks that unlock once the 250 headshots are done. These follow the same style as the special challenges from Black Ops 6. For the M15, the tasks included:

  • Fear Enemy Eliminations: One requirement involved getting 100 kills on fear enemies, which includes all zombie-type enemies. The Quadcore Site contract is perfect for this since it sends waves of zombies at you until the objective is over.
  • Sprint-Based Eliminations: This challenge was simple: 50 kills shortly after sprinting. Nothing tricky here.
  • Attachment-Related Task: Another requirement asked for a specific attachment—a 4× magnification scope—which doesn’t unlock until the weapon reaches level 32. This can feel slow at the beginning of your grind, but once more weapons and attachments are leveled, these tasks become less tedious. When you need weapon levels quickly, rely on Double Weapon XP and keep knocking out contracts.

Finishing the Requirement to Unlock Molten Gold

After completing the three unique challenges, the last step stands between you and the Molten Gold camo:

Eliminate 20 special enemies. Two types of contracts help with this:

  • HVT Eliminations for Titan Targets: The contract you’ll want to prioritize, though, is the HVT Elimination. In Tier 1, every HVT target is a special enemy—specifically Titan units. These are the most reliable and consistent way to hit the 20-kill goal.
  • Quadcore Sites for Manglers and Mimics: Halfway through these contracts, a Mangler or Mimic appears. Each one counts toward your total.

Higher-tier areas contain more special zombies overall, but the increased difficulty makes them less efficient unless your gear and rank are already upgraded.

Important Tip: A useful trick is to bring two guns into Endgame: one from your loadout and one you pick up from a contract. Use the weapon you’re trying to get Molten Gold for killing special enemies. Use the second one for headshots and all regular enemy types. Once the twentieth special enemy goes down, the Molten Gold camo unlocks instantly.
