How to Unlock Elder Gongsun
You can get Elder Gongsun as a companion after defeating him first in a friendly sparring match. He is located at the General’s Shrine in the Verdant Wilds. It is located in the Qinghe region, on the northwest side of the area. Simply enter the shrine, and you will see him there.
Defeat the Elder Gongsun
Elder Gongsun mainly uses two main combo attacks in his fighting style, one of which starts with a kick, while the other starts with a Force Palm strike. No matter which one he uses, his combos always finish with a red attack, and that’s your best chance to parry and deal damage. After he runs through a few normal attacks, he will introduce moves that keep you alert.
One of his special moves, the Triple Toad Jump, consists of him jumping three times in quick succession before coming down hard on the ground. Thus, it is better to avoid the whole sequence rather than attempting to block each jump separately. Besides, he performs a smoke move where he envelops himself in a gas and then charges at you. It would be best if you stayed outside the smoke cloud and gett ready to parry the charge. If he suddenly starts to jump from one pole to another, it means he is performing his Pole Vault attack; listen very carefully to his audio cues so you can follow where he will land next.
