This guide breaks down how to unlock every single item in the game and explains what each one does, so you’ll always know which rewards to aim for and how to get the most out of your runs.

How to Unlock All Items and What They Do

Items in Megabonk don’t just give you small boosts; they can completely change how your run plays out. Right now, there are 78 different items in the game, each with its own rarity. Some are common and easy to find, while others are much rarer and only show up once in a while, making them extra special when you get them.

Items You Have from the Start

When you first start the game, you already have access to a handful of helpful items that make your early runs much easier.

  • Moldy Cheese gives you a 40% chance to poison enemies with every hit. It’s a great early offensive boost.
  • Borgar adds a small 2% chance to spawn a healing burger every time you kill an enemy, a fun and practical way to stay alive.
  • Wrench helps you charge shrines 4% faster while also increasing the rewards you get from them by 7.5%.
  • Clover boosts your luck by 7.5%, helping with better drops and critical chances.
  • Time Bracelet increases XP gain by 8%, making levelling up noticeably faster.
  • Slippery Ring boosts your evasion by 15%, so you’ll dodge attacks more often.
  • Golden Glove earns you 15% more gold whenever you kill enemies.
  • Gym Sauce increases your overall damage by 10%, a nice, simple power-up.
  • Oats raise your maximum HP by 25 points, giving you better survivability.
  • Medkit improves your HP regeneration by 45%, so you recover health faster over time.
  • Credit Card (Red) adds a 2.5% damage bonus every time you open a chest.
  • Credit Card (Green) gives you +2% luck whenever you open a chest.
  • Golden Shield rewards you with extra gold when you take damage.
  • Thunder Mitts create a lightning strike when you hit enemies. It has a short 10-second cooldown, but it’s both funny and powerful.

  • The scarf makes your attacks deal 33% more damage while you’re in the air.
  • Slurp Gloves trigger Blood Magic when you hit enemies, damaging those around you and healing you for a small amount.
  • Mirror reflects any incoming damage back to the attacker and gives you brief invulnerability afterwards.
  • Overpowered Lamp increases your chance to trigger on-hit effects by +1.
  • Za Warudo is a lifesaver when you’re about to die; time freezes for a moment, letting you escape or turn the fight around.
  • Big Bonk gives a tiny 2% chance to “BONK” an enemy for 20x damage.
  • Spicy Meatball gives your attacks a 25% chance to explode, dealing 65% of your damage to nearby enemies.
  • Ice Cube gives your attacks a 20% chance to deal ice damage and potentially freeze enemies.

  • Leeching Crystal unlocks after upgrading the Regen Tome to Level 8. It increases your max HP by 50, but halves your regen rate.
  • Turbo Skates are available when you upgrade both the Cooldown and Agility Tomes to Level 5 in a single run. They boost attack speed based on your movement speed, up to a 40% bonus.
  • Shattered Knowledge comes from upgrading the Attraction Tome to Level 8. It lets your XP shards slice through enemies and deal damage as they fly.
  • Cursed Grabbies unlock by getting the Cursed Tome to Level 10. They make your runs harder (+10% Difficulty, 0.8x Max HP) but give you a 5% chance to cast cursed magic on hit, damaging nearby enemies.

  • Tactical Glasses drop when you defeat a miniboss in under 25 seconds. They help deal 20% more damage to enemies above 90% HP.
  • Forbidden Juice unlocks after landing 100 critical hits in a single run, increasing your crit chance by 10%.
  • Cursed Doll comes after dying 10 times. It curses enemies to lose 30% of their max HP every second.
  • Boss Buster is for those who defeat a stage boss in under 30 seconds, granting +15% damage to elites and bosses.
  • The key is unlocked after opening 25 chests and gives a 10% chance to open them for free.
  • Ice Crystal requires 50 kills with Frostwalker and adds a 7.5% chance to freeze enemies on hit.
  • Skuleg is earned by reaching 40% total Difficulty in a single run and adds +7% more Difficulty.
  • Ghost unlocks after surviving the Final Swarm for 60 seconds. Using interactables afterwards will summon ghosts.
  • Cactus requires killing 100 cactus enemies with thorn damage. It shoots spikes when you take damage, scaling with Thorns.
  • Moldy Gloves appear after using a Microwave to duplicate Moldy Cheese three times in a row, creating a poisonous cloud on hit.
  • Golden Sneaker is earned by breaking 150 pots. It lets you earn money just by moving.
  • Idle Juice comes after killing 500 enemies while standing still, doubling your damage the longer you stay put (up to +100%).
  • Kevin appears after collecting three Leeching Crystals in one run. He constantly hurts you but triggers your on-hit effects.
  • Slutty Cannon unlocks after killing 5,000 enemies with the Slutty Rocket. It has a 20% chance to fire missiles when you kill an enemy.
  • Brass Knuckles require 5,000 sword kills and increase damage by 20% to nearby enemies.
  • Demonic Blade unlocks when you heal 350 HP with Lifesteal. Critical hits then have a 25% chance to heal you.
  • Demonic Blood is earned by using Blood Magic to increase Max HP 400 times. It boosts HP by 9 and adds Armour and Thorns.
  • Toxic Barrel comes after 2,000 poison kills. It releases toxic gas when you take damage.
  • Gas Mask unlocks after killing 5,000 enemies using Amog, giving you Armour and Lifesteal for each poisoned enemy.
  • Gamer Goggles drop when you defeat a stage boss while under 10% HP, boosting damage the lower your health gets.
  • Eagle Claw comes from killing 10,000 enemies as Birdo, letting you deal 66% more damage to airborne foes and occasionally knock them into the air.
  • Dragonfire is for 4,000 kills with fire damage, and it gives a 15% chance to summon dragonfire that burns enemies.
  • Lightning Orb unlocks with 3,000 lightning kills, giving a 25% chance to summon stunning lightning strikes.
  • Joe’s Dagger unlocks after killing 10,000 enemies with the Dexecutioner. It gives a 1% chance to instantly execute enemies and permanently increases your damage by 1% per execute.
  • Bloody Cleaver is for reaching level 50 as Vlad. Lifesteal now triggers Bloodmark stacks and has a 50% chance to apply one.
  • Grandma’s Secret Tonic drops after 3,000 sniper kills. Critical hits have a 50% chance to explode, damaging nearby enemies.

Challenge and Boss Rewards

  • Quin’s Mask is obtained by defeating a stage boss as Athena, landing the killing blow with Aegis. It gives Thorns a 50% chance to explode.
  • Chonkplate comes when you reach 500 Max HP. It grants 20% Lifesteal and converts excess healing into a shield worth 75% of your max HP.
  • Sucky Magnet is rewarded for completing every Charge Shrine on the map. It occasionally pulls all XP gems toward you automatically.
  • The Holy Book unlocks when you defeat your first stage boss without taking any damage. It grants +100 Max HP, +50 HP Regen, and makes healing emit damaging energy.
  • Speed Boi is for finishing a stage with two Boss Curses active. When your HP drops below 50%, time slows down, and you deal double damage.
  • Energy Core is earned by defeating the Final Boss twice, granting big boosts to energy regeneration and cooldown reduction.
  • Anvil comes from completing three challenges, letting weapon upgrades gain +2 stats.
  • Soul Harvester unlocks after surviving the Final Swarm for six minutes, causing defeated enemies to summon two homing souls.
  • Bob (Dead) appears after surviving the Final Swarm for two minutes for every 14 units you move; Bob (yes, he’s dead) gets summoned to help.
  • Demonic Soul is unlocked by reaching level 30 as Calcium, increasing your damage by 0.1% per kill, up.
