How to Steal The Ring in Oblivion Remastered Ahdarji’s Heirloom Quest

The Thieves Guild is calling on the Hero for help again in Oblivion Remastered, kicking off a brand-new quest line that starts with stealing a tricky (and sometimes buggy) ring. Ahdarji’s Heirloom is a pretty fun quest if you’re into stealth, but it can also be a bit frustrating thanks to all the bugs and the different ways you can grab the ring.

That said, it’s definitely worth diving into the Thieves Guild missions. They’re packed with fun for anyone who loves sneaking around, picking locks, and lifting things from pockets-plus, they eventually lead you into one of the coolest storylines involving the Gray Fox.

How to Start Ahdarji’s Heirloom Quest in Oblivion Remastered

To kick off the Ahdarji’s Heirloom quest, the first thing you’ll need to do is fence at least 200 gold. Once that’s done, head over to S’Krivva’s house in Bravil, she’s your Doyen and the one handing out special Thieves Guild jobs to players. Talk to her and choose the “Special Thieves Guild Jobs” dialogue option. The first job she offers will be Ahdarji’s Heirloom.

With the quest now active, make your way to Leyawiin and find Ahdarji. She usually hangs out at the Five Claws Lodge around midday and moves to the Three Sisters’ Inn in the evenings. Talk to her to get things rolling because your first task will involve tracking down an imprisoned Argonian.

Questioning Amusei

After you’re done talking with Ahdarji, you’ll learn that the thief who stole her ring, Amusei, is currently locked up in Leyawiin Castle’s prison. Head into the castle and make your way to the prison area. There, you will find a guard who can be bribed for 20 gold to let you speak with Amusei. When you finally get to talk to him, Amusei will offer information about the ring-but only if you slip him a lockpick to help him break out. Even though Ahdarji will suggest that Amusei be killed, you can’t (and shouldn’t) do it, since he’ll show up again later in an important Thieves Guild quest.

Note: At this stage of the quest, players should head back to Ahdarji and inform her about Amusei. This step is important as it can help avoid a bug later on in the game, where the ring might not spawn as expected.

Stealing Adharji’s Ring in Oblivion Remastered

After reporting back to Ahdarji about Amusei, she will sweeten the deal by promising to double your reward which means you’ll earn 200 gold once the job’s done. Now it’s time to actually get your hands on the ring.

First, you’ll need to find a beggar in Leyawiin and slip him some gold in exchange for information. The beggar will then spill the secret about a hidden torture chamber in Leyawiin Castle, used for imprisoning Argonians. Armed with this info, head to Leyawiin Castle and use the Persuasion Wheel to raise Hlidara Mothril’s Disposition to 70. She’s the Countess’s personal assistant, and once she’s friendly enough with you, go ahead and ask her about the castle’s dark secrets and the recovered Caro family ring.

Accessing the Bedchamber and Stealing the Ring

Now you have a lead, Hlidara will tell you that the Countess locks her ring away in her bedchamber at night, and you can reach it through the hidden torture chamber. Wait until 1 AM (but not on the 15th, 16th, or 17th of the month), then sneak into the Castle Leyawiin Basement. Look for a lever next to a barrel to open a secret passage. Make your way through the torture chamber, find another hidden lever, and open the door to the private chambers.

Before moving forward, remove any armor and weapons to maximize your stealth, there’s also a patrolling guard you’ll want to avoid. Once you reach the bedchamber, immediately turn left to find the Countess’s room. Both the Count and Countess will be sleeping. Look to the right of their bed, there will be a lockbox containing Ahdarji’s Ring. If you’re struggling with the lock, you can pickpocket the key from the Count or Countess, just make sure to save beforehand in case they wake up.

Once you’ve got the ring, retrace your steps through the torture chamber and remember to stay out of sight. Return the ring to Ahdarji to claim your 200 gold reward. After that, report back to S’Krivva for another 200 gold, a promotion to the Prowler rank in the Thieves Guild, and your next mission.
