How to Start Legacy of the Forge DLC in KCD2

Legacy of the Forge is a big story DLC in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but you can’t start it right away. It only becomes available after you reach a place called Kuttenberg, which takes some time in the main story. So if you’re planning to play the DLC, starting a new game isn’t the best idea. In this guide, we will explain how to unlock Kuttenberg, where to find the DLC quest, and what you need to get started.

How to Start the Legacy of the Forge DLC

Head to the Kuttenberg region to start the Legacy of the Forge DLC. First, you need to finish all the main story quests in the region Trosky to unlock the Kuttenberg map. These include quests like Wedding Crashers, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Necessary Evil, and several others.

After completing this storyline, you will get access to Kuttenberg. Once you are in the new region, there are two more quests you need to finish: The Sword and the Quill and Speak of the Devil. After that, Henry will finally be free to explore the city and begin the DLC.

Where to Start the DLC

To actually start Legacy of the Forge, head over to the eastern side of Kuttenberg. Look for a purple quest marker near an old abandoned building. You will find it right across from a small pond and close to the well-known “Hole in the Wall” tavern. As you get near, a prompt will pop up asking you to inspect the building. Once you do, you will get the option to start the DLC story.

While you will eventually need quite a bit of Groschen to upgrade Henry’s forge and living space, you don’t need a huge stash at the beginning. The upgrades are also tied to a new “Prestige” system, which you raise over time.
