How to Solve the Cries in the Distance Dial Rotate Puzzle in Where Winds Meet

In the Cries in the Distance quest, you will face the Dial Rotate Puzzle, a large Tai Chi mechanism that blocks your path forward. It may look difficult at first, but the steps are actually quite easy. Solving the puzzle is important to continue the quest. This guide walks you through the Cries in the Distance Dial Rotate Puzzle in Where Winds Meet.

Distance Dial Rotate Puzzle in Where Winds Meet

During the side quest Cries in a Distance, you will eventually reach a room with a big Tai Chi disc in the centre. This is where you will need to solve a yin-yang puzzle to move forward.

You can find this quest in Qinghe, in the Moonveil Mountain area. To get to the starting point, jump down to the lower platform just below the entrance, then follow the path deeper into the cave. As you go inside, you will come across some brambles blocking the way. Burn them using a Fire Arrow.

After that, step on the pressure plate to free the trapped NPC. Feng tells you he’s been chasing rumours about his former senior disciple, Tian Ying, who was supposedly seen in this area. He came looking for him but ended up trapped inside the cave. Feng thinks Tian might be connected to the strange cave drawings, so he started investigating. Now he asks you to help solve the puzzle so the two of you can continue exploring.

How to Solve the Yin Yang Puzzle

To solve the puzzle, start by giving the centre mechanism a single rotation by moving it clockwise. After that, you will need to position the four pedestals correctly; two should face toward the centre, and the other two should face away from it.

You will know you’re doing it right when you see air flowing from the outer pedestals into the centre. Once everything is aligned, the centre mechanism will fully retract, opening the way forward and giving you access to the lower area.
