How to Report to Zatoh (Location Map) in Monster hunter Wilds

Reporting your Gypceros hunt to Zatoh in Monster Hunter Wilds, while seemingly straightforward, can present a few quirks. This guide will help you navigate the process, addressing common issues like Zatoh’s potential absence and the environmental/time-dependent nature of NPC appearances in Kunafa Windsong Village. We’ll break down the steps, from triggering the quest to ensuring you can successfully deliver your report, so you can get back to hunting with minimal frustration.

How to Report to Zatoh in Monster hunter Wilds

After you hunt a Gypceros in the Windward Plains, it has to be on that map, as kills in other areas won’t count head back to Zatoh in Kunafa Windsong Village to complete the quest. Some players have noticed that Zatoh sometimes isn’t there when they return. If the village seems empty, try resting and changing the time, or simply restart your game, this usually brings all the villagers back. If Zatoh is there but stuck inside a building, just hang around nearby. He moves pretty slowly, but he’ll eventually come outside.

The player discovered that Zatoh appears in Kunafa Windsong Village when the environment is set to Plenty and the time to Day. However, this feels frustrating since the Gypceros spawns in the Windward Plains during Fallow, a time when Zatoh doesn’t seem to appear, at least based on their experience. To make things more confusing, the player’s hunter only mentions the Gypceros’ Fallow spawn after the quest is submitted. It also seems that NPCs follow their own schedules, going to sleep at night or staying indoors during sandstorms.

How to start ‘Beware the Gypceros’

After completing the main quest and reaching High Rank, start the first main story mission, “New Ecosystems.” This quest kicks off your journey through High Rank and unlocks a new quest from Zatoh. Head to Kunafa Windsong Village in the Windward Plains and speak with Zatoh. He’ll mention that an “unfamiliar” monster has been spotted in the area, it’s been blinding village workers with a sudden, bright flash.

The villagers are unsure what kind of monster it could be, it’s a Gypceros. The tricky part is that Gypceros only appears during Fallow season, a time when resources become scarce. If you want to hunt this Gypceros and protect the village, you’ll have to wait for Fallow season in the Windward Plains.
