How to Remove the Vex Shields in the Fallow Mission – Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate

In the Fallow mission of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, you’ll face a Vex boss that hide behind powerful shields. To break those shields, you can’t just shoot them you need to use your new Matterspark ability to sneak through barriers and destroy the hidden shield generators. Here’s a quick guide to show you exactly where to go and how to take those shields down so you can finish the fight and move forward in the campaign.

How to Remove the Vex Shields in the Fallow Mission

To deal with the shield generators, you’ll need to use your new ability: Matterspark. This lets you transform into an electric ball and travel through tight spaces, like vents or grates, that you normally couldn’t get through.

First Shield Generator Location

When the boss’s first shield goes up, look around the arena. Face the direction you originally entered from, then look to your right-hand side. Strange green and yellow growths will designate a hole in the ground. Use Matterspark to zip through that hole and travel under the Vex barrier. On the other side, you’ll pop out right near the first shield generator. Shoot it to bring the boss’s shield down and keep up the attack.

Second Shield Generator Location

Once the boss’s health drops to its final segment, it will throw up its shields again. This time, don’t head right turn left and follow the path all the way to the far side of the arena. There’s another shield generator tucked away there. The shield will permanently fall if you use Matterspark to break through the barricades once again and destroy that generator.

With the second shield generator destroyed, the boss is completely vulnerable. Unload everything you’ve got, finish it off, and you’ll complete the mission. Once it’s down, you’re free to move forward in The Edge of Fate campaign.
