How to Recruit Phenn in Octopath Traveler 0

Phenn is one of the earliest characters you can recruit in Octopath Traveler 0, and bringing him into your party gives you a strong and reliable Hunter right from the start. He’s a familiar face in Wishvale and plays an important role in its restoration. If you’re just beginning your journey and want a powerful physical attacker who can handle both close-range and long-range combat, Phenn is a great companion to pick up early on.

    How to Recruit Phenn

Once you start the main story and unlock the first rebuilding quest, “Kindlers of the Flame: Chapter 1 – The Hunter Phenn,” you can go find Phenn right away. Just leave Wishvale and keep walking straight south. When the surroundings turn snowy, you’ll know you’ve made it to the Frostlands.

Go deeper into Snowshard Grotto, clear out the enemies along the way, and you’ll eventually reach Phenn. Join him in taking down the last group of enemies. After the fight, he’ll agree to help rebuild Wishvale. Now just fast-travel back to Wishvale, talk to Phenn, and he’ll officially join your party.

Recruit Phenn in Octopath Traveler 0

Phenn is part of Wishvale’s town watch, and he’s been here ever since he lost his parents. To the protagonist, he’s more like an older brother than just another villager. As a Hunter, Phenn hits hard, lands criticals often, and almost never misses. He fights using both bows and axes, making him reliable at any range.

As you level him up, he learns some useful support skills. One lets him recover 30% of his HP and SP after every battle, helping him stay ready for the next fight. Another boosts his physical defence, making him tougher to bring down. He also gets a skill that gives him a chance to counter physical attacks, turning enemy hits into free damage. His strongest support ability increases his physical attack every time he takes a hit, letting him grow stronger the longer the fight goes on.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets. Hodophile by nature and aspiring to get lost in Hang Sơn Đoòng cave in Vietnam someday!
