How to Reach the Top of Mount Yotei for Inheritance Trophy – Ghost Of Yotei

In Ghost of Yotei, one of the most satisfying side quests has Atsu climbing up Mount Yotei to recover Charms hidden by her parents. This journey really tests your platforming skills, as there can be some very tricky rope hooks and steep rock slides. The side quest has plenty of nice rewards to offer such as the Inheritance Trophy; you’ll just need to play carefully and work your way to the top. Here is the complete guide to reaching the summit and claiming the prize.

Finding Mount Yotei

To kick off this adventure, make your way west to the Mount Yotei Shrine, located at the far western edge of the Yotei River. It’s nestled between the Dueling Tree and the White Dye House, so keep an eye out.

Once you arrive at the shrine, you’ll notice a parkour path that leads upward. Follow it until you find a crack in the wall—like a small cave entrance. That’s your gateway to the climb. But don’t think the tough part is over—this is just the beginning.

Steps to Climb Mount Yote

Rocky Slides and Rope Hooks

Start by heading left, where you’ll come across a rocky slide. Slide down and jump to grab the rope at the bottom. This will help you continue your ascent.

Crossing the Broken Bridge

Eventually, you’ll encounter a broken bridge with no way to jump across. Look to your left—two ropes are waiting for you. Use the first rope with the R2 button, then swing to the second one. After that, continue right and climb the cliff at the end.

Shack and Dead-End Challenge

Next, you’ll reach a small shack. Take a moment to imagine if Atsu’s parents had stopped there for a break. From here, the path looks blocked, but heading left reveals a cliff partially hidden by a tree. Jump from the tree onto the cliff to keep climbing toward the peak.

The Final Stretch

Just before the summit, you’ll find a steep rock slide. Slide down carefully and grab the rope at the bottom. From here, move left and climb the final stretch to reach the top of Mount Yotei.

Rewards You Get at the Summit

Once you reach the peak, you’ll spot the Mount Yotei Shrine in the distance. The path there has a few minor jumps, but nothing too tricky. Approach the shrine, use the Respect animation to bow, and you’ll be rewarded with the Father’s Charm and Mother’s Charm.

Before heading down, explore a bit more, there’s plenty to find. At the top, you can discover the Pillar of the Fallen, which grants the Starlight Abyss weapon skin, and sliding toward the mountain’s center reveals an Altar of Reflection. Climbing Mount Yotei isn’t just a side quest, it’s a full adventure loaded with rewards.
