In Black Myth: Wukong, there’s a part in Chapter Three where you’ll find yourself inside a Pagoda that works like a big prison. As you explore, you’ll notice many of the cells are blocked by strange purple barriers that you can’t open right away. It might seem confusing at first, but there’s a way to unlock every single cell and it all comes down to finding and defeating a hidden boss inside the Pagoda. Here’s how it works.
How to Open Pagoda Prison Cells
As you make your way through Chapter Three, there’s a point where you’ll end up stuck inside a Pagoda, which basically works like a prison. Once you look around, you’ll see that a lot of the cells are sealed off by a glowing purple barrier and at first, there’s no obvious way to open them. When you defeat Captain Lotus‑Vision, every single purple lock in the prison is removed instantly. After that, you’re free to backtrack and open up all those prison cells that were locked before.
In Chapter Three, as you follow the main story, you’ll eventually reach the shrine called Pagoda Realm Upper Pagoda. This is along the main path, across in the prison after the Lower Pagoda shrine. Once you’re at the Upper Pagoda shrine, turn around and look directly across from it. There’s a spot where you can drop down a cliff, and doing so will lead you to a hidden boss waiting inside one of the prison cells. This boss is called Captain Lotus‑Vision.
Once you’ve taken down Captain Lotus‑Vision, it’s a good idea to head back to where you first entered the Pagoda and explore all the prison cells again. Now that the purple barriers are gone, you’ll find more than just empty rooms. There’s an NPC quest you can finish and plenty of chests waiting to be opened, making the trip back well worth your time.
